Dance Workout - dance workout, aerobics

I found yet another great workout through Amazon. I really enjoy this one and if I'm going to be totally honest, I lost a lot of my fitness levels lately and needed something just like this to get me back in top notch again. While I don't need to lose much weight, I need to get my fitness back at the top and this has helped me progress because it's fun to do and the step portion is about 20 minutes so it always seemed doable.

It uses basic choreography so you shouldn't find it hard to keep up and Tonya is a great cuer and motivational. The weight section is about 22 minutes, so when you put both portions together, you get a great 55 minutes (including warm up and stretches).

The toning segment is also easy to follow and the perfect amount of time. All you need are weights and your step and that's it. If there is one thing I don't like about the dvd is the pre-program Bible meditations, but you can obviously skip that and get straight to the fantastic workout. I love it and highly recommend it. Step Pump With Tonya Larson

Tonya Larson's Step Pump DVD is truly innovative. I liked seeing new moves that I haven't seen before, while keeping "the core" in mind. As I licensed physical therapist I appreciate the care she took to make this workout both safe & effective. With 3 intensity levels I feel comfortable recommending these workouts to a wider range of people. The instructions were great even during more challenging choreography moves.

As a mother of 3 boys under five years of age I need a solid workout worthy of the limited time I have for myself. Tonya Larson's manner is both warm and encouraging. I thoroughly enjoyed her spiritual warm-ups and obvious sincere faith. What a refreshing workout!

Jill Albus,

MSPT, Mom

I am enjoying the step portion of this video. In terms of complexity it is intermediate - some choreography, but the steps are well explained and manageable. It's not too intense, but intense enough to be interesting and fun. Two comments to bear in mind: (1) There is no good warm up. I therefore am doing the warm up section from Kathy Smith before starting. You HAVE to do a good warm up to avoid injuries. (2) Could do without the spiritual stuff - just ignore it. Good value for what it cost!

I've recently moved overseas and have been finding it a challenge to get into my new exercise routine; I miss my gym, and the aerobics classes, terribly. After trying this DVD only once, my attitude has improved. The workout is well-rounded, and some of the choreography is reminiscent of my former gym instructors' routines--now I know where they got their material! ;) Overall, an excellent buy, and I love how Tonya forces me to do all the things I'd rather not--like squats--boy, was I sore after the first run through of this video, in all the right places--hamstrings, inner thighs.... I just wish there were more Step combos--I can never get enough of good choreography. :) This DVD will have its own special place in my core collection of workout DVDs...

Tonya has a really soothing voice but her video is a bit hard to follow if you're a beginning stepper. She does not go into details on how to perfect the moves. It took me about 3 tries to get the routine down. There is a meditation section and weights. - Christianity - Dance Workout - Fitness - Aerobics'

Game Camera - deer, game cameras

Well about two weeks ago i purchased this camera... it was much much better than my Wildgame innovations s2, until it went insane:

I came out to check the pictures and it had 15 (3burst shots, brought the SD card up to the house and had lots of nice night photos on it... brought the sd back to the camera. loaded it and went to arm the camera and it starts taking pics w/o counting down like its supposed to, so i went into it and tried fixing settings but it takes pics about every 5 seconds so you cant get anywhere... it now just freezes the screen and takes pics... i even turned it upside down on the floor and you can hear the faint click it makes about every 5 seconds... anyways working on that with Primos ATM, hopefully i just got a dud. so your wondering why i gave this a 5 star review at this point, well here's why:

Pros:

-Takes awesome night pictures!

-Trigger time is very fast... birds can't even escape it's grasp

-it is very simple to use/set up and has lots of wonderful options like shot bursts and adjustments to how many LED's you use

-Battery life is awesome, 2 weeks in the woods and its at 96%

-Day pics are even better than the night pics

-Camo- nice when all the black ones tend to draw thieving paws' attention

-Pre molded hole (i'd recommend masterlock's python)

-i also like that it counts down from 30 til' it arms so you have some time to figure out if its where you want it ( my WGI just kind of goes into sleep mode so you shut the door and run i guess)

Cons (other than the obvious):

-There is a click when the shutter opens... deer seem to only notice it if they are within 5 ft.

-The mounting strap idea is absolutely terrible! i wish they'd tossed a couple holes in it for bungie straps like the WGI has

-I dont know if it effects anything, but i did notice after rainfall the bottom lip of the camera tends to have water drops there that gather... wasnt an issue for me at least.

Overall- great camera wish they'd put a bit more thought into the mounting of it because im not buying their bracket for [...] bucks, hopefully that will come on the next model, and if they make the shutter silent it will be the perfect cam for the money! i'd Recommend this to anyone... really the click isnt that bad and ive only had 1 3-burst shot where a deer looks up from 1st shot and runs in second shot (although the deer was probably 2 ft from camera). looking forward to the one Primos sends me for the one that broke. Don't be put off by the click... Get this camera-its the only one you'll ever buy!

-Edit, Got my new one and it's working brilliantly, 2 nights resulted in 81 pics, very nice night pics and caught a squirrel on the move during the day, quick shutter speed :)

-Edit: After 2 straight weeks in the rain there's no water on the lower lip of the new camera, wondering if thats why the other one broke, either way, its still working great :) Primos Truth Cam 46 Camera

I've been using my new TC46 and would like to comment on it.

I selected the TC46 because of it's "better than most" construction, it's 46 LED's, it's high level of features and the name Primos on front.

Pros:

- Programing is easy

- Triggering seems to working well

- I like the seal design on the TruthCam.

- Easily lockable

Con's:

- To make it function properly, I've had to use all the 46 LEDs and 5.0MP settings.

- With these settings, battery life is poor.

After placing the cam at my hunting location, the next day I was delighted to see over 60 pictures registering on the readout. While I had the sensitivity too high and got some nuisance trips, I had over 20 pictures of "blackness". That was even with the 46led setting. This is unacceptable since it should of at least picked up a tree at 5' away. I have gotten good night pics from the cam on other evenings. It looks like night pics at 50% battery are not possible because that's the reading I had in the morning. 50% battery is only a couple weeks of life, if that. I emailed Primos and I am waiting to hear their response.

This camera has worked well for me. With rechargeable batteries, I've taken 429 photos in a week and still had 50% of the battery life left. As for the external power port, I tried it, but the battery didn't last as long as the internal rechargeables did! If someone has a solar panel the external power might be a good option.

The camera is sometimes slow switching between day and night photos. At dusk the photos are sometimes too dark and at dawn they may be white(I have another brand that does the same thing). However the trigger speed is very fast capturing animal movement easily.

One thing I don't like is the limited delay choices for taking photos. There is only a 1 minute delay and 30 minute delay option between shots, none in between. Other cameras I have offer a 5 and 10 minute delay.

Overall, this is a good camera. I've used it now for 8 weeks and captured some great buck photos!! I would definitely recommend it to a friend!!

Dan R.

I haven't been too happy with my Truth Cam 46. I did get plenty of pictures of deer and really like the way the camera records the date, time temperature, lunar phase, etc. However, the camera randomly shuts itself off. I don't want to go walking around the thicket where the deer bed down every couple of days to make sure the camera is still on.

After a lot of research I decided to purchase 2 TC46's. I purchased 2 6v battery packs with solar panels and have enjoyed the results. One camera did have a problem. The camera lens cover was shattered during a visit. No indication of anything hitting it. Still took great pictures. E-mailed primos and they quickly replied that they would happily replace it. Getting 900 to 1100 pictures a month. I'm sure that higher priced cameras take better pictures under certain conditions but I am so happy with these cameras at these prices that I just ordered a 3rd camera. Happy huntin. - Game Cameras - Hunting - Deer - Trail Camera'

Keyless Deadbolt - keyless entry, schlage

I recently bought one of these for our home after we moved in. Now I don't need to fumble with keys every time I need to ket in the house, and I don't have to worry about kids losing or forgetting keys.

Like other schlage locks I have owned, this unit seems to be very well made, sturdy, and easy to install. The programming of codes is simple, and codes can be added or deleted just by using the keypad. Keypad use as far as entering codes or even updating codes is straighforward. The fact that a simple button push "lights up" the buttons at night is also cool.

The buttons are also epoxy-coated, so the numbers won't "wear off" thus revealing the codes used. I have a separate code for each family member, and can easily add codes if I have a contractor stopping by.

A key can be used to open the lock if for some reason the electronic part stops functioning (too cold from sub-sero weather, perhaps?). Since this is a Schlage lock, it can even be re-keyed so that the key you have matches the other Schlage locks your house may have. Schlage FE595VCAM619ACC Camelot Keypad Accent Lever Door Lock, Satin Nickel

The other reviews have covered the product very well, so I am just commenting on the battery life. My 9 volt battery that came with the lock lasted 1 month. I just assumed it had been sitting in the package and was near it's exp. date. The 2nd battery I installed was a fresh Everyready Alkaline 9 volt. It lasted a total of 4 months. There are only 3 family members in my house, so I don't think it is a matter of heavy use.

My point is that 4 months is a long way from the 3 years advertised so consider this when you are thinking of getting this lock.

4/5/09 Another update...3rd battery lasted less than 1 week and when it failed the door sat unlocked all day, not good. Will contact Schlage for replacement, but do not like to have to return things and pay shipping

I timed my installation of this at a surprizing 15 minutes, including removing the old doorknobs and reversing the handles on the keyless entry. Usually everything takes twice as long with me! The only hard part was deciding which door to put it on- the main house entry or an outbuilding I use a lot.

An earlier review stated that the lock shuts down for 5 minutes after four consecutive missed entries of combinations. I timed mine at 30 seconds shutdown, confirmed in the owner's manual.

The thing is made well, heavy duty even. Easy to program and delete combinations. I was hoping to gain entry a tad quicker by "swiping" a finger across four digits in a row, but this won't allow that; it wants a discret push of a number on the keypad with a very short time between entries. So it takes 3-4 seconds to open the door.

No complaints, but I await the day the 9V battery gives out and I have to remove the inside portion of this lock to replace it. Then I may have my first gripe!

P.S. - I paid $118 (on sale) for mine in bright brass at Lowe's, Jan.'09.

Having just purchased a new home and in need of replacing the locks, we did a great deal of research on the various companies before settling on Schlage. Of course, they are a decent mid-level quality lock and there are much more secure, and much less secure lock ratings than found within this line (i.e., commercial, etc). We selected this keyless lock to use on an outdoor utility/laundry shed with the intention of being able to access laundry the laundry room easily without the need for keys. It has been wonderful, and we enjoy the bronze colored finish a great deal. I have heard that it can peel and crack, so be sure to keep your receipts in a safe place, or your original packaging, should you need to send it back to Schlage for warranty work (there is a lifetime warranty, as far as I am aware).

The lock is easy to program and uses a 6 digit master code for this purpose. You can store 2 four digit entry codes in the lock at at time, and they can be changed using the 6 digit code. As others have mentioned, this is useful when contractors need access to the home. For example, we were able to have the sprinkler system repair guy do some work on the house because of this.

As for the battery life, I can't comment much on it, except to say that we are still on the battery that came with the unit and it has been about 2 months. I would note, however, that we do not use this system on an entry door to the main house. Rather, it is in a location where it is not used every day. Nevertheless, we live in a very hot climate, which usually kills batteries at a faster rate, and have not encountered a problem with the lock as of yet.

Thus far, we have been very pleased. If I encounter any problems, I will be sure to update the review, but at present, I am very satisfied. A note of caution - be sure to retain the instructions included with the lock, as they contain the 6 digit code necessary to change the entry codes. If you happen to misplace this, you will need to take the lock apart to get the code, as it is inside of the lock.

I had all the same positive reactions listed by others when I installed this. After I had been using it about six months, the 1-4 digits stopped working - when I pressed them nothing at all happened, though all the other buttons worked. This was intermittent for a while and then they quit altogether, taking me back to using a key. I called Schlage and was told that they recommend replacing the batteries every three months. Wonderful! Anyhow, I replaced the battery and guess what?! Now none of the buttons work at all! I have messed with the connections and all, but have been unable to revive it. So how do you send a lock in for repair? Just leave your door unprotected when you send it in? Anyhow, I misplaced my receipt, so I'm totally out of luck. I guess I'm just back to living with fishing out my key every time I need to get in. - Keyless Entry - Schlage - Keyless Lock - Keyless Deadbolt'

Retractable Cable - ipod accessories, ipod car charger

I picked this sucker up for $30 from Fred Meyer, after they made it clear that they had no other options available for charging my iPod from my computer (I was on vacation with no cord and a dead battery). I was only expecting it to last throughout the vacation, but I've been using it ever since.

I keep the car charger in my car, with no extra cables to burden it, and I keep the wall charger plugged into the wall. The cable retracts easily, with a design much like that of a window blind (pull until you let go, where it locks, and then pull a bit more and let go to release).

It's a small, unobtrusive, and incredibly convenient device for your iPod, and at this price, it's a steal. You'd pay two or three times this at some electronics stores for the wall charger or car charger alone, let alone one that is so solidly constructed.

No question -- if you own an iPod, purchase this product. I was impressed enough to come and write this review -- perhaps you will be too. Universal Apple iPod USB Charger Kit - USB Retractable Hotsync Cable - USB Ho...

This kit is one that no iPod user should be without. The pieces are well constructed, and the wall charger beats Apple's own overpriced model. Also reasonably priced. I am very satisfied with this product.

The product was exactly as pictured, and I am VERY pleased with the construction and price. I am THRILLED that I can use the same cord for different components - this saves on storage space!

This is a WONDERFUL product at a fantastic price! I highly recommend it to any iPod owner!

NOTE: as of 11/30/08 the car charger attachment does NOT seem to charge my iPod. I haven't done anything to it to make it not work, it just won't work anymore. Since I am way past the warranty I guess I need to buy a new one. Not a problem since it is so inexpensive.

On paper (i.e., computer screen) it looks like an unbeatable deal. In person, though, it looks and feels cheap, and performs accordingly.

I used both chargers with the retractable dock cord on several trips. They worked fine for about 3 months, then the car charger died.

When I called BargainCell for a replacement, they told me I'm out of luck. The items are only guaranteed by BargainCell for 30 days, and they can't even refer me to the manufacturer because the product "comes from China and there is no warranty."

Luckily I'm only out a few bucks because this package is so cheap. But I now have the hassle of researching and buying a replacement. Don't make the same mistake I made!

One thing nice to say: I love the retractable USB dock cord, as it eliminates cable clutter in my car's glove compartment.

Everything seemed poorly constructed when I got the set in the mail. Then things started falling apart. The car adapter comes apart everytime you try to unplug it. Every time! So I stopped using it so that I don't get the parts stuck in the cigarette lighter plug. The home charger was fine at first, but it too fell apart. One of the prongs came out in an outlet! it is so dangerous. I almost got shocked.

I thought I was getting a real deal on this. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of leaving the seller a good feedback rating before I'd actually tried the product.

It doesn't work. The LED on the AC adapter lights up when you plug it in, but the iPod never charges. It's not worth messing with trying to get a refund for less than three dollars - I'll just avoid doing business with the seller again.

Guess there's a reason the official Apple chargers are so expensive - they actually charge the iPod.

LED lights (wall plug and car adapter) however neither ipod nor iphone are charged. The retractable USB cable lasted exactly 5 times... then the spring went flying.

This is not worth your time ordering it.

Not a very high-tech item. However, the retractable cord, on the Ipod attachment side was badly bent, right out of the box, totally unusable. Since it was a good deal, something like $6, I decided to lump it, rather than the hassle and cost of returning it, which would likely cost more than $6. I will be much more careful about who I do business with and will not do business with this vendor again and I realize that a good deal might be too good to be true, even with a low tech item like this one. - Ipod Accessories - Ipod Car Charger - Wall Charger - Travel Charger'

Grundig Mini 300pe - portable radio, sangean dt-400w

This is a fine radio with very nice improvements starting from its predecessor, the Sangean DT-200VX. It is a very light and small portable radio with very good battery life that can be taken almost everywhere for full as well as easy listening capabilities.

PROS:

1) It has quite good reception on all bands (AM/FM and Weatherband). Now it also has excellent and almost completely static-free reception on all 7 US frequency channels of the standard NOAA weather-band. In addition, this radio also has the official NOAA weather alert detection capability to signal the user of impending weather disasters as well as other problematic situations such as child abductions, flash floods, earthquakes, etc. However, this NOAA alert capability is NOT the latest S.A.M.E. technology (Specific Area Message Encoding) that is available on some other table top units that can give a county by county area warning to individual users. Like its predecessor, this radio also has a monaural/stereo switch (bandwidth control) for FM listening improvement, but there is no RF (radio frequency) DX gain switch on the DT-400W as there is on the new Sony SRF-37W for example, but see Con below.

2) It has a very big and easy to read display with a battery level indicator, a lock display indicator, a 90 minute shutoff capability (that can be disabled during each listening session if needed) with an on-screen indicator, etc. It also has a clock and a backlit display, but see Con below.

3) There is a very nice arrangement (called My Favorites) for as many as 19 presets for any band in any order with simple retrieval of all presets, but only in order from the first one designated to the 19th one in a logical progression (it won't go backwards to find the previous preset for example).

4) Its deep bass boost is a very nice feature.

5) Automatic scanning capability and seeking capability, but see Con below.

6) It also has a nice and easily removable belt clip for wearing the unit for jogging or walking.

CONS:

1) Backlight cannot be turned off even in daytime and even in bright sunshine conditions. It is apparently an LED (light emitting diode) with an extremely low power drain, but it seems very illogical to me that it can't be overridden when it isn't needed at all. Apparently, it is actually only on briefly while tuning the radio and then it shuts itself off after a short time, but to not be able to disable it entirely when it is not needed seems absolutely counterintuitive to me.

2) It is certainly well built with a fully attached battery compartment door (requiring two AA batteries), but it is not as rugged as the Sony SRF-37W for example (and the latter only requires 1 AAA battery). Of course the reception and acoustics are better overall on the DT-400W so get a good case (like the Sakar International HS-10, a small hard shell case which it fits like a glove).

3) A 90 day limited warranty from Sangean America is way too short given that even the Sony SRF-M37W has a 1 year limited warranty (see my review of the SRF-M37W and also its product manual for details).

4) During automatic scanning/seeking, the audio is muted so you can't hear any stations as they are detected. Only the strongest stations are picked up during the scanning/seeking process. Of course during manual scanning the individual stations are easily heard so that you can readily pick the station you want to listen to.

5) Sangean chose to put the speaker controls on the same slide switch along with the Stereo/Mono (bandwidth) changing capability. In my opinion the arrangement was better on the DT-200V with a simple and direct push button Stereo/Mono switch on the front of the radio and not on the side with one other commonly used function.

6) As also discussed by others, you must connect the short trailing wire (that is supplied by Sangean) or else connect a set of supplied earbuds (or a more comfortable set of headphones- see below) in order to receive any FM or Weather-band transmissions at all- including the weather alert transmissions.

7) The supplied earbuds are very uncomfortable and could also be quite dangerous given the volume output that this unit is capable of with 2 AA batteries. Sangean DT-400W AM/FM Digital Weather Alert Pocket Radio

This is a decent AM/FM (stereo) weather alert radio with two significant exceptions you should be aware of.

You will NOT be able to receive FM or Weather Radio without first attaching the supplied external antenna (a piece of wire that plugs into the earphone jack) or having the earphones plugged in. If you are counting on the radio as a weather alert radio and don't have the antenna with you or forget to plug it in, you won't get the warning. If you have the earphones plugged in, you'll have an antenna but the speaker is disconnected and you won't hear the warning unless you are wearing the headphones.

Also, don't pack this radio away in your emergency kit with batteries installed. The radio has a clock feature which continuously uses battery power - so just when you need it, it may be DOA. - Sangean Radio - Weather Radio - Sangean Dt-400w - Portable Radio'

Outdoor Wireless Speakers - outdoor speaker, wireless speakers

I was searching for wireless speakers for an outdoor event, and I'm certain these will do nicely. While it's true that the transmitter needs to be plugged into the music source (via a standard headphone jack that will fit all devices I would need it to) and into a wall outlet, I expected that. For a test run I plugged into my laptop sitting in the middle of the first floor then slotted 6 AA batteries into the speaker and turned it on. It automatically picked up the signal. I took a walk around the house and got about 100' away and still got good signal. I also like the feature to select L,R,or Mono on the speaker itself. Bass boost helps the sound a lot. Also, I was able to run 4 speakers from 1 transmitter. Don't know yet about interference or battery life for the speaker. I love the aesthetics of it. Audiovox Acoustic Research AW825 Mission Style Wireless Speaker (Bronze)

Easy to set up, resonable effective range, good sound for a small speaker package, and a good looking package. For what it is, and the price we paid, this is a great deal. If you want great sound from a $500 speaker system, then buy a $500 speaker system. This unit fills a specific need. It is portable, wireless, and rugged enough to be used outdoors. It does all that for $70.

I purchased this item for somewhat of an unusual use. I have and extensive collection of digital nature sounds and use the device to attract birds and other various wildlife for photographing. I feed audio signals with a simple MP3 player loaded with various bird songs. I throw a rope over a tree branch and hoist the AW825 up to a particular level then move back and begin selecting bird voices. I was surprised how the birds reacted. It is very easy to attract Downy Woodpeckers, Red bellied Woodpeckers, and even Pileated Woodpeckers. Nuthatchers go crazy trying to figure out who is in their "turf". It's a lot of fun and I have gotten great wildlife shots. I even attracted a flock of Turkey. So far I have no complaints. I have not had it exposed to any bad weather conditions but it is nice to know that a little rain may not hurt this device. The range is acceptable (I have gotten clear signals beyond 150'. I just wish the volume was a bit louder.

I purchased this outdoor speaker for my patio. Worked great right out of the box. Hooked the transmitter up to my pc and it pick up the signal right away. It's been outside a few months now and still works great. It actually gets REALLY loud. Much louder than I expected. Great little unit. I may upgrade to the one with the light built in later. It would be nice to hang it up and have light/speaker combo as the patio light.

Very nice product and east to install.

The wireless speaker is in my backyard. The transmitter is hooked to my computer that is running iTunes inside my house. There is a free iPhone application, "Remote" that can control itunes. So I just use my iPhone from the backyard to adjust volume and select songs. Anyone that I have given access to my WiFi and iTunes can also select songs and adjust volume. Great for parties.

I researched and read all the reviews on similar products and selected this one. We just love it. We have Direct TV and wanted a speaker to connect to our receiver so we could listen to Direct TV satellite radio and baseball games outside. This connected in minutes, auto tuned instantly, and delivered a great sound. The only drawback was that the batteries didn't last as long as suggested. We began to get static so we plugged it in and we were back in business. I'm thinking of purchasing these for other family members.

Bought this as a gift, maybe didn't look at the description close enough but it is only one speaker.

Set up was pretty easy, setting this up as a standard speaker option for your stereo and not just your ipod may require a trip to radio shack but since I had an extra set of RCA to RCA connections handy I was able to run right this straight off the tuner as another speaker.

In the configuration I installed this in it is running mono and most will be powered via DC (until the 6 AA batteries die). I have no idea what running two of these in stereo would entail. Possibly could use the same transmitter but that is unclear...definitely research further if you want to run more than one speaker (mono).

Sound quality is really good and seems to play fairly loud. Not sure how long batteries would last for multi-hour a rip-roaring party.

Bottom line...this is a great product for extending the party outside with a simple mono 1-speaker set up. If you want multiple speakers in multiple locations you'll need to research further.

I'm looking for background music outside on my deck. I'm not looking for house rocking, neighbor bugging, police provoking sound. I also don't want crappy, tinny laptop speakers either. My options are 1)drill a hole through my solid concrete walls and brick exterior, hook up to my AV system in the basement, and run wires to permanently installed speakers or 2) a portable wireless option or 3) a portable iPod dock. Option 1 would obviously be the BEST sound quality wise, but at a major premium. So I'm willing to compromise a bit on the sound for a simple, less costly option. Option 2 works better for me because I can control everything through AirPlay and not have to dock my phone. (see below)

These were the most attractive wireless outdoor speakers. Two separate drivers is always a plus. I wish they would use bigger batteries for a little more power, but for my deck, there is plenty of sound (for background music). I ordered one at first to be sure I liked it, I just ordered my second for stereo sound. One reviewer mentioned that he runs 4 speakers. The transmitter is a simple radio antennae- ie there's no pairing (that I know of), I'm guessing you could connect as many speakers as you want.

The sound is comparable to a midrange iPod dock. Not as good as my Klipsch dock, better than my old JBL dock. The low end suffers a bit, but you knew that. If you want to FEEL the bass you need a powered subwoofer. The bass boost does a decent job of keeping the speakers from sounding tinny. Vocals are clear, helped by having two drivers.

I have the transmitter hooked up to my airport express, so I can play music from my computer, through the airport, and control it with my iPhone on the deck- Perfect! The transmitter is about 30 ft away, one level down and through a concrete wall and works well. There is a hint of interference at times. When it's in the room directly adjacent to the deck (and through a framed wall) it does work better.

Our phones are DECT, and the router is 2.4/5 Ghz, so should not have wireless interference from these.

Plus, with the second speaker I get a second transmitter to hook up somewhere else. There is a switch on the back to change the speaker from L or R or mono (both). You can run these off battery power or plugged in. I may use it as a sound machine in my room (again through Airplay) since I don't have a dock for my phone in there.

They do make a very similar product that you can hardwire into the house, it also has a built in light, but from what I could tell the speaker specs were identical, and I want more than a single 40W candle bulb outside. - Wireless Speakers - Outdoor Wireless Speaker - Outdoor Speaker - Wireless Outdoor Speaker'

Weight Loss Tools - exercise, walking

This pedometer counts all the steps you take while walking at a moderate pace, during the course of one day. Pressing a button will display the number of steps you have walked so far on that day. Then at midnight it stores the total, and resets the count to zero, ready for the next day's walking. Pressing the button repeatedly will show how many steps you walked on each of the previous seven days. Setup is easy -- you only have to set the time of day. The instructions are confused on one point: when they say "The unit must be positioned horizontally . . ." they really mean vertically, the position it automatically assumes when clipped to your belt.

I see this item listed five times here, but this one is the only one that ships from and is sold by Amazon.com, and qualifies for Super Saver shipping.

I've been walking for years and always on the lookout for a good pedometer. Most of them are either too complicated, too cheap or won't stay on my waist band. This one gets 5 stars from me in all areas, plus the numbers are large and easy to see. Though a bit more expensive, it's the perfect pedometer for people who just want to count steps!

My pedometer worked fine for two weeks, and then stopped. The clock works, I've reset it, but for two days it did not reliably register steps. Now it doesn't register at all.

Omron will "fix" it for me, but the cost of shipping it to them and the return (they make you pay for it) is the same as the cost of a new unit.

Reading the reviews it seems some people love their units, but that this failure isn't unique.

I can see the other 7 reviewers are delighted with their unit but my HJ-150 was purchased Sept 14th, stopped working October 12th. The battery is OK because the clock function works, and I can reset the whole unit, it just doesn't register any steps anymore.

For a $12.50 purchase, I'll drop them an email and see if they will replace the unit but I am not going to spend much time on the process. Hopefully Omrom will do the right thing and replace it.

I liked this step counter. It was accurate; it counts every step. I wore it every day. The only problem is that the clasp that attaches the step counter to one's waistband was tight, difficult to get on so that it would attach well and not fall off. One day at the post office when I bent over to pick something up, the step counter fell off; the back had separated from the rest of the step counter, and although I did not realize it then, the battery and tiny screws that attached the back to the rest of the step counter must have also fallen on the floor. I took the step counter to a watch repair service, and I was told that the step counter could not be repaired unless I brought them the tiny screws. At that point I gave up. I'd say this counter could be improved by putting some kind of leash on it. I would have been happy to pay more if I were sure it would not fall off.

I have tried numerous pedometers, both cheap and not cheap, and they all really seemed to stink. This one is very nice. I was only looking for a counter but this also keeps a week to look back on as well as the time. Nice features. Besides it actually working, the feature I like most is its shape. It is not awkward. It is also small and slim enough to turn the face in towards my body an clip to the inside of my pocket for extra safe keeping while still being comfortable. I don't even know it's there. Great buy!

I've purchased several pedometers to track my daily steps, and this one is by far the easiest to use. You just take is out of the box, set the current time and it's ready to go! I love the fact that it resets at midnight to zero so that you are ready for the next day, and also saves your data for the last 7 days so that you can track your progress. This one is a keeper and I've recommended it to all of my friends.

I loved this pedometer at first. Then after about 2 months it just stopped counting steps. I would reset it, change the battery and it would count for a little while then stop. I wanted to return it but the window for the refund was over. Spend more money and get something better than this piece. - Step Counter - Exercise - Walking - Omron'
