Avery Labels - avery labels, 5160

I was happy to find so many lbles for such a low price.

They arrived, loose, in a soft Priority Mail envelope -

The labels are a shiny, slick texture - not traditional bond paper appearance -

The printer handled them without a problem.

The printed names and addresses were more grey than black. Why? Don't know. Hasn't happened before. Must be the shiny paper.

Removing the labels was a challenge - once they were started the rest were easier. The lables simply stick too well to the backing.

I found you have to be extremely careful when applying the labels - if you aren't you can easily smudge the ink - and this was 3 hours after the labels had been printed.

I mean, what do you really want from a mailing label? It's the advertised size, it doesn't get stuck going through your printer, it's relatively easy to peel of the labels off, they stick well to the thing your mailing. These labels are absolutely not fancy, but they absolutely served me well, and at a fraction of the price of what I see at office supply stores. The box of 3000 lasted me over 6 months, and keeping the labels in the included plastic bag I had no trouble with humidity problems even in my un-air-conditioned home office.

In short, if these look good to you, I think you'll be happy with them.

This is a great deal on the quanity of labels. They are no different than what I was buying in the store except they where a lot cheaper for the quanity. I also use them to make my gift tags for xmas & etc. I would definitely buy them again.

A good stubstitute to Avery Labels for jobs that are not critically important. Would I use them for very importnat labeling jobs? No. Avery is number one in the label industry. One has to be selective in what one chooses.

We send a ton of marketing info for my company, so we are constantly buying labels. I think it's safe to say I will never go to an Office Max or Costco for my labels again after using these. Good value.

These labels are fine except that when I use the Avery 5160 setting, the printing is slightly off the edge of the label. I had to add a couple of spaces at the beginning of each line. Planer Accessories - woodworking, measuring gauges

This Wixey gauge is a quality measurment device with some really cool features. It will predict with very good accuracy what planer height is set to BEFORE you make the pass. It can be set to read incramentally, in other words how much you change the planer height from the previous pass. It is easily calibrated.

It can also be used to measure the thickness of a piece of lumber before, after or anytime. Ths feature is so handy that I find myself using it even when I am not planing wood.

With all that said, now the other shoe. IF you have a standard planer that lowers the cutting head it will probaly fit fine, you can move on to the next review.

BUT IF you have a planer that has a fixed cutter and the bed raises up and down READ ON!

You will have to design and build your own metal brackets to attach the readout. They have photos on thier web site showing examples, but no written instruction or even tips on how to do it. I am quite crafty and mechanically inclined, yet it took me about 5-6 hours to install this, and I plan to re-work it some now that I have been using it.

You will have to dissasemble the unit and install tha scale upside down, or else you cannot calibrate it. You also have to ignore the negative numbers because it is now working backwards to the way it was designed.

You need to leave tha bottom of the scale far enough off the frame of your planer to allow measuring the fattest board you plan to measure with it. (I am currently limited to less than an inch(this is what I want to re-work)

Or you could install it with a rising scale that is sure to get bent/ broken etc as it would rise above the rest of the planer.

Note also that the scale is designed to only mount on the right side of you planer.

Overall I love the function of the readout and the accuracy it has brought to my planer, But IF you have a rising bed planer Expect to spend a great deal of time "Making it work" and even after all that time the scale will be "Upside down" and the readout will read "Backwards" Wixey WR510 Digital Planer Readout with Fractions

I think this is a great product. I believe the only mild criticism I would have is the install directions. They jump from one name brand to another and back and forth. This may seem quite simple for the person who designed the product, but for us poor mortals it needs a rewrite. I suggest that it cover Delta Planers in one section from beginning to end, then the DeWalt Planers in another section, and finally the generic planers in the last section. I made a stupid mistake and assumed that the bar had to pass below the planner table edge and to that end I drilled a hole in the table only to find out later that there was no need to do this. Needless to say, I guess that I should have read the directions more carefully, but like most people I hate to read directions. I prefer step one, step two, etc... hope this helps you out there and be sure to read your directions.

This thing is a must have. The only complaint i have so far is the battery that comes with it doesn't last. Throw the original battery that comes with it away and buy a duracell and put in it before you even get going.

Makita 2012NB installation. Good points are many. It seems very accurate (within .002 - two thousands - of an inch.) Can measure what's left, or an amount to be removed. Can switch between metric and english. It shows fractions when you are on them exactly. (e.g. at .500 it also displays 1/2. But not at .499 or .501, so if you want the fractional display, you should either know what they are, or crank your machine very slowly to catch the fractional readout.) Came with two batteries. I think will be very simple to use in practice.

The downside was installing it on my Makita 2012NB. This is a popular machine. Makita has made them for years with little need for improvements, and it consistently gets good professional and user reviews. If you buy a Wixey planer readout for this Makita planer, make sure to look at the installation pictures on Wixey.com. Even there you can see the signs that it didn't install according to their installation instructions, even though the instructions read "All Machines" for the general location. And then the thing they don't tell you is if you do install it as they show on their website, the infeed table will not fold up all the way... the bracket that supports the reader protrudes! Bummer.

So I solved that by flattening and refolding the vertical bracket that connects the moving head to the reader. And I had to refashion a different machine screw head for some clearance issue. I guess I ended up spending 3 hours or so installing it.

So the moral to the story is if you own that planer, and you don't feel skilled or brave enough to mess about with their setup and hardware, don't get this readout.

The setup was quite tedious and the instructions are not very well written, but in about 30 minutes I had this planer readout working perfectly. I tested repeatedly and verified the reading with a set of dial calipers. I was within .001 on almost every measurement. You can't beat the convenience and accuracy for the price.

I am looking at trying the tablesaw fence readout next.

I installed the Wixey on my DeWalt DW735 in less than 15 minutes. The accuracy is incredible! It's especially handy when you have to plane a new board to match something you planed a couple of set-ups ago. Just measure the thickness of your first board, and plane to the same dimension - all by using the Wixey gauge on the planer.

I was a little worried about just having it stuck on to the machine with the double sided tape, but then discovered self-tapping screws included to be used as well to secure it to the existing height scale. You want to make sure you do a "loose" fit-up first to make sure there is no binding as the gauge moves up and down on the guide bar.

Another nice feature is the automatic fraction display that shows up as the digital reading matches a standard fractional measurement. This is one of the best power tool modifications I've made and I highly recommend it to others. Bike Brakes - shimano, bike brakes

I bought these pads as replacements for my BR-6700 calipers. In the past, I have used Koolstop salmon pads and green Swissstop. Both of these options have always been preferable to Shimano OEM pads in my cycling. Shimano OEM pads of the past have never worked well in the wet for me and always seemed to wear very quickly. All that is now changed.

The latest generation of OEM pads are excellent. Since installing them, I have found nothing that would shake my confidence in their stopping power. I live in southern California which is almost always dry, except for today. I finally got to test these pads in the rain...I could not feel any difference in wet to dry performance! The entire reason I originally decided to use the Koolstop pads was wet performance. This is no longer necessary.

Monitor Extension Cables - cable, monitor cables

This is a great product. The cable is well-built and sturdy. I had no trouble connecting my laptop to my LCD TV. The amazing thing is it is able to transmit video at 1920x1080 @60Hz resolution (don't know if its a big deal). My laptop lacks an HDMI out port so had to use this. It does the job as good as an HDMI cable would do.

Bought this to hook up our laptop with a 40" Samsung LCD TV. Works perfectly, very reasonably priced. The audio cable could be a bit longer, it's wrapped with the VGA cable and just splits off for a foot at the ends, but it's not a huge deal.

I used this cable to hook my pc up to my 37" lcd tv. I was concerned as I had heard some cables don't cut it or do not provide quality resolution. I had no problem with this product and it is extremely well priced.

This cable is of solid design comes in a 9'5" (not 10') is well crafted and durable. That being said it is important to note the audio inputs are only 9" long, not nearly long enough for many laptops, no matter how much you twist or yank.

This cable works as advertised. The built in audio cable is why I purchased this cable. If you want to use your big screen as a computer monitor it works perfect, or like I do, you can use it to watch movies from Netflix or ITunes on the television. I did not rate it perfect only because sometimes it produces an audible buzz that requires a gentle wiggle of the cable and all is good again. I definitely recommend this product.

This product was as said. I have a Sony Bravia and I needed an laptop adapter for it to be able to watch my netflix online. This trasmit a create image and the sound is good, sometime I have to raise the volumen on my tv to be able to hear it well but I belive that is because of the sound on the movie. The sound connection works perfect for my Vaio because every connection is on the same side of the laptop. I recommend this product for the great price and quality

This product worked beautifully. I was considering for a long time to be able to get the laptop image to show up on my TV. I am paying for cable and realized that for how little I actually watch it, I am paying way too much. I decided to investigate options when this cable came up. I wanted to have the experience of my Acer netbook on my Sharp Aquos LCD TV, not only the video but also the audio. This cable is perfect as it has the connection for both the RGA and audio with both fitting on my netbook and TV. I wasn't sure how the connection would be but after plugging it on both ends and setting it so the image only goes to the monitor (having the laptop screen and monitor together makes the image less sharp and jumpy) it was perfect. I had the same experience as my netbook but on the TV. I can now watch all the videos, surf the web and basically do anything I would in my tiny screen but now watching it on my TV and with the nicer sound from my TV speakers. I highly recommended this product and for this price, can't beat it. Now I'm waiting for my indoor HDTV antenna to see if I can get the local HD channels. If I can, then with that, this laptop to TV connection and subscriptions to Netflix and Hulu, I can finally say goodbye to the cable...well, I'll still keep the high-speed Internet so they won't be totally missing out but I'll be saving lots of $ every month!

It is an excellent buy, exactly what I want at very reasonable price. Very easy to use. I am able to connect my Lenovo notebook with the Samsung LCD. I can now enjoy the on-line instant movie. The feature of having the audio cable attached is very practical and user friendly. No need to have separate cable and mess up the already crowded wiring behind the cupboard. Highly recommended. Eyeglass Lens Cleaner - zeiss, eyeglass lens cleaner

Very simple - this is the best.

I was cheap for a moment and bought cheap cleaning fluid - result my beautiful Sony DSC-R1 got rainbow on lenses. I bought this thing and after that my lenses are spotless.

I am using it for everything - glasses, TV, LCD Monitor and etc. Carl Zeiss Optical Inc Lens Spray Cleaner (3-Ounce Bottle)

The product works much better than other brands I have tried. Don't let the other lower reviews fool you. They are either because people thought they were buying more for the price or because people were unhappy with the price. If they are unhappy with the price then they should buy it somewhere else. That is the nature of an open/free market. When I read a review, I want to know whether the product works or not, whether the product is reliable or not. I want a PRODUCT review. I do my own research into prices (try PriceTrace or CamelCamelCamel to get price histories before you buy).

Having said that, this product works very well. It sprays evenly. It cleans without damaging the lens - assuming you are using a proper cleaning cloth (some prefer microfiber, others lint-free disposable cloths - I have used both with similar results). It doesn't leave streaks and it is not too thin (problem with cheap drugstore cleaners) or too soapy. And, for those that really want a price comparison as part of the review, I thought it was very well priced (three dollars including ship.)

First time I used this cleaner for my eyeglasses. It's very easy and convenient compared to my old system. However even after it's rinsed off it tends to leave the glasses a bit smeary. I would buy it again, but only because the small spray bottle is convenient.

What a ripoff. $9.24 for one bottle that can be had at Adorama for $2.99 and free hipping. Title DOES MAKE YOU THINK YOU ARE GETTING A CARTON OF 24. $5.95 shipping would indicate a much larger parcel than one bottle. If I were you I would stay away from this seller.

Mp3 Cassette Adapter

I bought this product and found like many other people out there that if you have a tape deck with an auto-reverse feature, that you'll have some problems with just about any cassette adapter. After looking online, I found out how to fix most brands, but not this one. So after tooling around for about half an hour, I figured out how to get this cassette adapter to work in an auto-reverse tape deck. If you open the adapter and look inside, you'll see a small gear between one of the center teeth wheels and the little assembly that contains the guide wheel near the edge of the adapter that can only rotate in one direction. Remove this small gear. This will allow the tape to spin freely in either direction. If you look at the guide wheel, you'll notice that it can shift to two positions. One that protrudes closer to the outside of the adapter and one that has it sit more inside the adapter. Tape this piece so that it stays permanently in one of these two positions. That guide wheel moving is how the auto-reverse in your tape deck knows to activate. After I made these changes, I found that the adapter worked in my Ford tape deck flawlessly. This is an excellent product. I have been using it to connect my portable MP3 player to my car audio system. I have been using it daily for over a month and it work EXACTLY as it should. The sound is truely excellent and indistinguishable in quality from my car radio or CD player. The construction quality also seems to be excellent.

One thing I especially like is the coiled cord. I had used a similar product some years ago and the long connecting cord was always an inconvenience - it would hang down and get in the way during use. When you wanted to store the item in the glove box, it would just add to the clutter. With this product the cord stays neatly coiled and out of the way - it does not clutter the dashboard or floor area and is easy to store.

One thing to keep in mind when using any product like this - some (but not all) car tape players have a "skip" mode. When a tape player's "skip" mode is active, it listens for silent portions of the tape. If it is detects any silence for more than a few seconds, it will automatically go into fast forward until it "hears" sound again. If your tape player has a "skip" mode, be sure to cancel this mode - i.e., put the player in "normal" play mode. Otherwise, you will find the tape player trying to "fast forward" over any silent portions of your audio feed.

I would highly recommend this product.

I just received my unit and was aware of the possible problem with auto reverse when I bought it. But being unhappy with the quality of FM transmitters, I thought the price was worth the risk. When I plugged the Coby into my car cassette it did a couple of auto reverses and then spit the Coby out. Having read the review from 3/07 about taking the unit apart and removing the center gear, I got out my small Philips and had at it(2 screws on one side and a bunch on the other). Be careful because the parts inside the cassette fall out pretty easily. But removing the center gear worked and the sound is very good except for a little clatter from the cassette. I would guess highway noise will cover that up.

I just got mine, and have tried it in two different front loading car players. It sounds terrific in both. However, the second player is smart, and almost outsmarted me. :-) I found that, if the music isn't playing through the Coby when it is inserted, the player doesn't think a tape is there, and it won't enter play mode. If you turn the volume all the way up, you can hear a fuzzy version of the music anyway, which confused me for an hour or so. Once I realized the music needed to be on, and the Coby plugged into my iPod before putting it into the cassette player, it started working perfectly. Keep this in mind if you have trouble with yours...

Before I had this, I had a generic cassette adapter. The sound was horrible and it made a terrible, tinny echo. I bought it for my Ford Taurus which costs $800 to add a CD changer to. My wireless FM adapter sounded better than my generic cassette adapter, and it was static city since the antenna is on the opposite side of the car (station wagon).

I was pleasantly surprised when I got this adapter to replace my old one. The sound quality is better than the strongest FM station here, and the coiled cord really reduces the mess in my car. I only had one problem with this, and I think that is because of my car stereo, but I will note it anyway.

After 10 minutes of playing, my car stereo would switch to side 2, then side 1, and display TDE1 and eject the tape. After getting very angry, I found a solution. Simply take the adapter apart, spray WD40 on all the gears, and remove the small gear assembly that prevents the rape from being rewound (was this even necessary? there is no physical tape so it doesn't matter if someone tries to rewind it). Problem solved!

I would definitely get this over any other adapter.'

Kitchen Appliance - waffle, waffle iron

I love this waffle maker! It's like the ones our mom used, not those cheesy seeming plastic things they're making now. It's also got a lot of excellent features that make my life easier. I'll mention right now that this is a VERY hot waffle maker. They make the plastic ones to be "cool touch". I'll trade the cool touch feature for the sturdier design of this versatile machine. I'm being careful and haven't burned myself yet. But it's something to consider if you'd like your children making waffles. My ten year old could be careful enough, but I keep my five and eight year olds away. The waffles this machine makes are great! They freeze well too. The family is very happy. When the light goes of the unit is ready to make waffles. Pour in the batter and the light comes on again--wait for it to go off and the waffle is done (however, I usually go on instinct and sometimes pull out the waffle before the light goes off.)The open grill feature makes wonderful pancakes and fried eggs. I have a big family and it's nice to have two pancakes cook at a shot without taking up all my stovetop! I can have bacon and eggs on the stove and the pancakes on the waffle maker. (I can also have a heart attack if I keep eating all these bacon and eggs!) The sandwich feature is nice. I can cook two grilled cheese sandwiches at one time getting me out of the kitchen quicker. Some advice--cheese might drip out the side of the sandwich. Just keep the sandwich away from the back of the unit where the cables run in and the mess just wipes off--no problem. The sandwiches cook far more uniformly than they do in a pan on the stove. They taste great. This unit cleans up easily and changing the grills from waffle to flat is easy. I recommend it over a lot of more costly models if you want more value for your money. This is the most versatile waffle maker I've found and all the features actually work!

I got this one after unsuccessfully trying the Cuisinart waffle maker. It is wonderful! None of the batters, not even gluten-free ones would stick. All waffles came out great, crisp outside and moist inside. The grill feature was a plus and makes great grill cheese or other types or grilled sandwishes in a jiffy.

Back in the 60's I loved the Sundays my Dad made waffles on a toastmaster Waffle/grill. He would add cinnamon, fruit, all kinds of things. Never stuck always light and fluffy. When I went to college my odyssey began. I have gone through 4! different brands and here is why you want this machine - Ok Betty Crocker and others may have a beeper but the waffle that comes out could have come out of a toaster, B&D lets you choose on a dark to light waffle 'zone' with a light that goes out when it reaches that temp. Even with a thick from the box batter out came the most fluffy waffle with a Belgium like crust. Take a close look at this baby it's CROME and yes it will get hot, (kids don't touch) but unlike others it CLEANS UP. Overflows are no problem. Just as good a George Forman. And grilled sandwiches were wonderful but I use old world bakery bread with brie and dry salami, again adjust for light and dark. Favorite recipe? Coco for a chocolate waffle and chocolate chip ice cream to make a sandwich. This is an 'open and closed' case and really is space saver 3 in 1 product for our family.

My mother has had her B&D Wafflemaker for years and it's fantastic. She bought me this one as a gift, but I have to say the quality is not nearly as good as it used to be. The chrome is very thin and the plates don't always line up easily and lock snugly into place. I had to bend the clips in the front so they wouldn't touch each other and cause the plates to come loose. I don't agree with other reviewers that it doesn't get hot enough or bake waffles well. As long as you have a good recipe and keep them in long enough (until they stop steaming) then they will come out crisp and yummy. I don't recommend the receipe that comes with the unit- the batter is too thin. I have also used the griddle side for grilled cheese and it worked fine. Be sure to season your plates well before trying to use jellies or cheese on them. All in all the wafflebaker works well, but the quality could be much better (especialy for the price!).

This is a great waffle maker!! Every time we make waffles, they flip right out just like they're supposed to. We haven't had any of them get stuck or had any of the disasters/frustrations that we've had with other waffle irons. It's actually easy to make a waffle again. Can you imagine!? I think the reason why is that the Teflon is good and it gets hot, evenly.

After you get it, my recommendation would be to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS that comes with it. Just before preheating, brush on some vegetable oil like it says to do. (I guess you can use spray but we've found the oil at first works best.) After that, you won't need anything at all for the other batches. Also, be sure not to mess up the Teflon coating by washing it while it's still hot (let it cool off completely) or by using utensils that will scratch it up, like metal forks and scrubbers. If you take care of this sensitive Teflon, it will take care of you. I think it says not to put it in the dishwasher so you probably don't want to. Both plates, top and bottom, are completely removable and they're really easy to clean with a basic sponge...don't use the scrubby side of the sponge though...you won't need to anyway.

We've made waffles several times already and they've been perfect every time. It DOES get really hot but that's a good thing. We've also flipped it over to the grill side and that's great too. We've made quesadillas, grilled cheese sandwiches, and burgers. For burgers, it has a trench like thing around the border of the grill that the fat collects in. You'll need a little cup or something to catch it where it supposed to drip out.

If you really want it to "drain the fat away" fast like a Forman type grill, just put something under the back left leg to tilt it a bit. Don't put something under the leg that could catch fire though....again, say it with me, "It gets really hot!" We've been placing it on our stove top when we use it...if you have sensitive counter tops, do that too.

If you make a sandwich, keep the grill open and flip the sandwich as needed. Otherwise, your sandwich will get really flat. I think that's it -- It really is one of our better purchases lately and so we take good care of it. Oh, and adding a nice amount of vanilla extract to your waffle batter makes them delicious!!
