Bellaonline Recommends - flat iron, hair care

ConAir's last flat iron was a big fat lemon. I loathed it so much, I refused to buy another one by this company. I went out and spent about eighty bucks for a HAI straighter instead. It's worth every penny, believe you me. But then I tried ConAir's new ceramic straightener. And man, was I floored.

I had to borrow a friend's, since I'd left mine at home. What a surprise! Heats up quickly, and hair glides smoothly past the plates, leaving hair not only straight, but shiny. I had gone to sleep with just-from-the-shower wet hair and woke up with a horrible resmeblance to some feathery 70's boufant do. A sweep over with the Conair ceramic flat iron left me with soft, shiny and straight hair in less than 15 minutes. I've had nothing but frizzy trouble since moving to SW Florida, and my hair refuses to go flat without the use of a good flat iron. I'm happy to say this particular ConAir flat iron makes up for a multitude of past sins, and doesn't put a dent in your budget. Comes with 2 brush attachments that slide on the side of the plates. Also features a "power" and "turbo power" button, which I can only assume means "turbo" is volcano-like hot, which is exactly what it felt like. Conair Flat Iron 2" Ceramic Straightener - Dual Voltage.

Don't waste your 50 bucks on those salon professional ceramic flat irons. this one is just as good for half the price. i only spent 22 bucks on this great item and it works like a dream. i've always had frizzy hair and the amazing ceramic heated iron really straightens in no time. Ceramic flat irons are the way to go. I highly recommend this to anyone.

I wish I would have bought one of these a couple years back when I started growing out my hair. And to think it is pretty cheap too. Wow.

My hair looks great now! I feel a lot more confident about myself and more happy with my hair. Doesn't get rid of all the frizz but that's what frizz lotion is for, right?

This is really easy to use...the comb pick works wonders, while I wasn't too impressed with the bristle pick.

Still, my hair has never looked this good and I owe it all to this gizmo. If you have long, wavey and/or unmanageable hair, pick up one of these today.

I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with this straightener. From the way the other review were written, I assumed it worked like a miracle for only 22$. I made up a little test of my own to see how good it was. I washed my hair, waited until it dried into a frizzy puff, then put in braids and slept on it. The next morning, I had frizz all over and huge puffy waves.

The straightener took only minutes to heat up, a huge plus. I love the huge plates so I can straighten faster. I first tried a temperature of 10. It worked beautifully on the fine, thin parts of my hair, but on the coarser, thicker parts, it wasn't enough. I set it on 15 and straightened. The waves disappeared immediately but the hair was still a little puffy. I ran the straightener down again and I had shiny straight hair but more volume than I bargained for.

Pros: 1) 2 minute heat up time 2) 25 temperature settings 3) huge plates 4) made hair shiny 5) straightened hair great 6) tamed some frizz 7) really shows off the layers in my hair 8) 2 year warranty.

Cons: 1) Gave my hair too much volume (but that could just be my hair) 2) couldn't tame all the frizz 3) i keep bumping the temperature dial on the iron, thus making the iron heat up all over again, but I think I can just scotch tape it so it doesn't move.

All in all a great value, especially for the price. I think it would benefit those with curly hair but it MIGHT be a bit of a disappointment to thick hair.

I have a-little-past-shoulder-length, curly, blond hair. I have bought numerous straighteners to try to make it straight, and this is the only one that has truly worked. It stays straight when it is humid, and it has these neat combs that attach to it. The boar bristle one makes hair shiny and the comb untangles hair for the fastest straightening. It heats up in no time flat. Straightening my hair used to take an hour or so. Now, it takes 15 minutes. I let it heat for a minute and it is ready to go. It has up to 25 heat settings, too. For convenience, I leave mine on 25. It heats up the fastest and takes the least time. With other straighteners, I have had problems with product buildup on the plates, affecting the heat distribution. This one does not have one single speck of product anywhere on the plates. I am a teenager and I don't have a job, so I watch my money and how I spend it. This is the best money I have ever spent. I higly recommend this product!

I have thick, long hair with a wave in it. I've tried just about everything to straighten it (and I don't care how good you are with a brush; straightening your hair with a blow dryer is impossible.)

This thing WORKS. Wow! Heats up fast, glides through your hair like a dream, and the result is impossibly shiny, stick-straight hair!

I can't recommend this highly enough, esp. for the price. A true bargain!

and to think i thought i'd have to wear my hair in a messy-bun for the rest of my life! you see, i have frizz-prone hair that sometimes and in someplaces is curly, and then in some is almost straight. so i thought i was cursed, and doomed- but no! i bought this iron, and wow! what an awesome job! my hair is silky and smooth.i love the heat settings (1-20), and i leave mine at about 11, and it does the job for me. i also love the safty-grip on the tip of the iron, so you can press the iron together on both sides as you glide it through your hair. i also love the comb plate which i leave in, and it grips wonderfully without snagging or breaking my hair. then, when i get to the top layers, i use the boar-bristle comb, and it adds an extra bit of sheen.if you've had a bad experience with a straightener before, do yourself a favor, and try this one. you'll get great results, i promise.what can i say? i just love this product! - Inexpensive - Flat Iron - Hair Care - Conair'

Firefighter Costume

The perfect costume. Our son loves it and our BIL who's a firefighter was able to explain all the uses of the pockets, straps, etc. He was amazed at how authentic the costume looked and said the only thing missing is that it isn't fireproof. It really looks and feels like a mini version of their actual get up. From the toggles, to the suspenders our son is entertained for hours. Worth every penny! Wrist Weights - weights, fitness

If you're looking around for some wrist/ankle weights, these are a good choice. Here's what I like the most about them:

-they're adjustable. This is clearly their best feature and saves you having to buy multiple weights of different increments. No need to buy a 1lb weight, then a 2lb weight, and then a 3 as you get stronger on an exercise- with these, you just take out or add what weight you need

-the price is comparable to other cuff weights and a cheap means overall of doing exercises where you need added weight

-they're portable enough that one could throw them in the car when traveling

For me, this is the way to go if you're looking for some cuff weights to go along with your home exercises. A word of caution- while it says "10 lb adjustable weights", that doesn't mean each cuff is 10 lbs- rather each cuff is a made up of five, 1lb cylinders for a total weight of 5 lbs for EACH cuff.

Good for general fitness or home physical therapy exercises, they're a great little product. Also recommend Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow for those looking for a good resource on tennis elbow. Valeo AW10 10-Pound Adjustable Ankle / Wrist Weights

I have also purchased weights called 'The Cuff' & another brand - but they don't compare to the Valeo weights. Not only can you remove individual weight packets from each weight attachment - but the entire design is SUPERIOR: Valeo weights close with a 'D' ring plus velcro straps, so the straps don't stick out (I wore a rubber band around the other designed weights to hold the strap down, lest it catch on something &/or come loose) & the Valeo's are SECURE & SAFE! They stay exactly where I put them around my ankles when I walk through brush, etc. The Valeo's don't twist or loosen, regardless of what I'm doing. I would recommend these over all the just 'wrap around velcro straps' closures, without the 'D' ring design, to everyone considering buying any wrist or ankle weights. Don't waste money on the inferior designs (that actually cost MORE!).

I'm male, 5ft-5in (165cm), 130lbs (60kg). I use these Valeo AW10 weight as ankle weights. I also have similarly designed weights which use cast iron inserts, but for use as ankle weights I prefer these Valeo weights, as the softer inserts are much more comfortable.

When tightened snugly against bare flesh, the 10-lb cast iron ankle weights dig painfully into the top of my foot, and the bones of my ankle. I also wear these Valeo weights "upside-down" so the thick bottom seam doesn't dig into my foot. (Don't worry... the inserts aren't going to "slip out".)

The Valeo AW10 weights fit me snugly enough, but I have them about as tight as they CAN be closed, and the smaller diameter of my ankles is probably similar to an average-sized female, so smaller women may have trouble with them slipping. I don't think anyone smaller than a large male could possibly use these as wrist weights.

Overall, I have been satisfied with the design and construction of these Valeo AW10 Ankle/Wrist weights.

These are terrible...once you take the "weight" out of the pocket, it's virtually impossible to put it back in...the strap broke after i used it twice, and the actual removable weight leaks some disgusting black stuff that got all over my floor...not recommended at all!

I am a cross country runner. In the midst of the season, I decided to get into 5:30 min a mile speed.

In order to do so, I decided on an ankle weight purchase that could help build both strength and stamina.

For my ankle, these are very nice.

---Comfort---

I do not know why people are saying that this is uncomfortable.

Material feels like that of a North Face vest. It feels nice and I feel great jogging with them although

I had to get used to the feeling of extra weight.

---Weight Adjustment---

Adjusting weight is little bit tedious but not as bad as some review points out.

Only thing that bothered me was the strong stickyness of the wrapping belt? which I had a hard time trying to open.

Weights were consisted of sand material, thus, pulling it out and putting it back wasn't that difficult to do.

HOWEVER, I must point out that when you are adjusting weight to 2~4 pounds, you must make sure you positioned it on your ankle so that

it feels balanced. Otherwise, it will feel unbalanced and will move during running in terrains.

---Wrist...---

This is not a wrist weight. You must buy a wrist weight if you want to use it for your wrist.

You could wrap around your wrist, but it will feel awkward.

Also, you cannot have five pound on your wrist because unless your arm is big as body builders, it will not fit in your wrist.

I have a decent sized forearm and four lbs was the maximum weight I was able to tightly fit on my wrist section of forearm.

---Overall Conclusion---

This is a good buy and probably one of the best bang for the buck weights.

Quality feels durable and I felt like I would purchase this product again.

However, I gave it a four star due to poor description (each weight is 5lbs/pair not 10lbs/pair)

and poor usability as a wrist weight.

For ankle weights, this is perfect for any type of trainers, athlete, or regular exercising.

While these weights are okay (and not all that uncomfortable), the write-up and information is very misleading. The weights are billed as 1-5 pound adjustable. There are actually 1/2 pound weight packets and to get 5 pounds you have to wear both belts at one time. Each weight is 2 1/2 pounds max. I was looking for 1-5 pounds for each ankle and this isn't it. If the description had been more accurate, I would have ordered other weights. - Weights - Weight Training - Fitness - Adjustable Ankle Weights'

Rings

I must admit, I wasn't expecting this ring to look at all like the picture. When I received it, I was in shock. It looks better than the picture! The ring is absolutely gorgeous! No one would think that it is CZ. The CZ diamonds shine like authentic diamonds and the sterling silver band has a nice polish that adds to the rings' effect. I highly reccommend this ring at such a cheap price. People would think you spent some $$$ for this ring. Sterling Silver Cubic Zirconia Heart Ring, Size 7

This ring is beautiful. It gives the appearance of a pricy, elegant ring but is reasonably priced and, more importantly, is comfortable to wear. I receive many compliments from co-workers and friends, some dripping with envy.

This ring is true to size. It is absolutely breathtaking! I agree with the other reviews: the cubic zirconia stones look like real diamonds. They glimmer beautifully! The pictures definitely do not do the ring justice, it is must more beautiful in person. I would highly recommend this ring as a gift for a special young lady! Thank you!!!

I bought this ring with no expectations. To my delight it was better than I could have imagined, the picture doesn't do it justice. It's a sturdy, not flimsy, little ring and the heart is a great size, not to small. The cz's are better than I thought they would be and look like real diamonds. It's a great ring to add to your sterling silver collection!

I bought this for my 17 year old daughter who had seen a small heart shaped ring at the Coach store and liked the style. This one was much cheaper and ended up being so much prettier! It's really an eye catching ring, doesn't look cheap and sparkles beautifully. I am actually ordering her a second ring since she will be leaving for college next month and is worried about losing it. I think she'll like knowing there is a spare ring at home just in case and for the price it's not a big deal. She wears this ring on her right ring finger instead of her high school ring because she loves it that much. I would suggest this ring for any fan of hearts and a little bit of bling!

This ring is beautiful and i've got plenty of compliments since i've been wearing it. It fits well and the picture doesn't do this ring justice. Its absolutely gorgeous. You will not be disappointed with this ring.

Wow. the packing was alot for a little ring but the picture does not do this ring any justice. The ring is beautiful, it shines, and perfect heart shape. I am still smiling because people assume it cost $$$. Very comfortable to wear. Great everyday ring and add a diamond bracelet with it for evening wear and WoW.. It would recommend this ring.

For an under 20 dollar ring this thing is gorgeous. I dont know why ppl complain that it looks cheap, since it is cheap. But for a cheap ring it is really nice. I did buy another cheap ring at around the same price that had a cuter box, a cute box is not what I was aiming for when I got it. The one I got is shiny and looks incredible. If youre looking for something to show off and have someone believe you paid hundreds for it then this is not for you. It does look worth more 20 but I doubt anyone would believe you paid more than a 100 not even that. It is cute though lol have I said that enough. I have only had it for a day and I think if I can remember to stop washing it, it might last a while. It seems to be well made, all of the stones are securely in place and they are clear not milky/whitish. The heart shape was well shaped you can tell its a heart. I guess if you have skinny fingers it may look too big. Its bigger than I expected and my fingers are all swollen fat. Its cute and well worth the price.

This ring is gorgeous. I wouldn't recommend for the ring finger.. may be too big.. but for the index or middle finger it is the perfect size.. like the other reviews say i get lots of compliments on it.. wonderful ring =]'

Delicious Drinks - smoothies, for purchase

This book is great for someone like me who loves smoothies but hates calories. The recipes are divided into those that are low cal (below 350) and others that are ultra low cal (below 250). I even found some that are down in the 160's. I have a previous smoothie book by the same author that is very good, but I was attracted to this book by an article about it in Shape Magazine, and I haven't been disappointed. The recipes are tasty and I feel like I'm doing something good for myself. Highly recommended! Slim Smoothies: Over 130 Healthy and Energizing Recipes Without All the Calories

I reviewed a lot of smoothie recipe books before purchasing this one, based on its reviews. It has an amazing number of delicious recipes that don't require a lot of extravagant or hard-to-find ingredients, and that's important. If you can't find the ingredients in a recipe or they become too costly, you likely will not get much use out of a recipe, but that's not the case here.

There's a wonderful variety of recipes that are highly nutritious and they sound absolutely delicious too.

I recommend this book to anyone as a great introduction to smoothie making.

I loved this book. I've been wanting to make smoothies at home for a long time, and when I got this book, I felt like I hit a treasure trove. There are plenty of recipes to keep you from getting bored with the same old smoothies, and the recipes themselves are simple and not overly ingredient-intensive. They're also very very easy to double or even triple the recipe for a party.

All of the recipes call for an optional teaspoon or so of honey, but I've found that when I make these smoothies, the fruit is already sweet enough, so I'm able to leave the honey out, and the smoothies still taste fabulous!

The recipes are easy, require ingredients easy to find in your supermarket and the additional information provided is interesting. Most importantly, the Smoothies are tasty. On a minor note - I found the "cutsie" names and descriptions unwitty and distracting.

The recipes are great! Simple ingredients, easy instructions. However, don't let it fool you.. on several of the mango recipe smoothies the protein values are stated over 90grams! Sorry, there aren't any steaks in these smoothies...

I agree with other reviewers that the recipes are quite good, but the writing style is unnecessarily silly, and really distracts the reader from the recipe. Each recipe begins with a description that is full of bad puns. The recipes are good if you can ignore the intros. - Smoothies - Nutrition - Delicious Drinks - For Purchase'

Violin Case

I have been looking for a violin case for my son for quite sometime & when I saw this this on Amazon, I was a little skeptical... You can't find anywhere on the net for this kind of violin case at such a low price. My son just loves it, it has so much room for his stuffs and light. The product was more than I have expected, nicely built and sturdy. Featherweight C-3960 Full Size Violin Case

I am very pleased with this case. It has lots of storage area, two compartments inside. as well as a zippered area outside that can hold sheet music. The case holds the violin very securely and is well padded. Hand straps, shoulder straps

and is very nice looking. Overall I think this case is a very good value

I am happy to get this case. The violin I got was expensive but case was not adequate. This case is very light and spacious. Also I was very happy with Amazon's service. It was shipped and delivered so fast.

Overall I give 5 stars.

I looked all over the internet for a case. This was the best one for the dollar. My director even said it was a good price.

It's very lightweight, which is good and it seems protective enough for my needs. I did have the strap on the side that's attached to the lid rip away from the screw holding it. It doesn't affect the use of the case and I can fix it but it did happen within a week or two of use. I didn't see it as a reason to trade up for one over $100. I would maybe spend more if it was for my daughter and getting handled more roughly.

The only real downside I have that made me consider trading up is that the large compartment still doesn't hold my Everest chin rest, although I have seen an Everest chin rest that "folds in". It fits, it's just very very snug and I have to really work to get it to fit. The compartment was a big reason why I wanted a new case. I didn't like my chin rest always being under my neck/pegs. I have to get my chin rest in just right or the foam of the rest gets dented/marred.

The other downside was purely aesthetic. The image shows a nice blue inside, but the wording says gray. And the gray is an odd hue that looks more like a blue that has been severely sun faded. But, I can't justify buying a more expensive case for just inside appeal when what really matters is that my violin is protected. And this case does this.'

Lamp Timer

I needed a wall timer that had the outlet in front, since I'm using this for a children's room little LED night light. The night light has a light sensor but I have the windows in there blacked out so that it's easier for him to fall asleep when it's light later at night, or to keep him from waking up when it gets light too early. So the light sensor never works, and I ended up plugging it in and unplugging it every day. So I looked around for a timer that had the outlet on front so it would project properly.

This arrived quickly, and it's much nicer than the older style ones I've used that had the little red and green clips that you slid into place, since those had the potential to be lost. This has no additional pieces. The "ring" is actually a lot of small pieces that slide out or in, so all you do is slide them out during the period you want something on, push them in for off. So you don't have a limit for how many times you cycle something on and off like you do with the ones with the pins, since they usually came with only a few of them. This one you can squeeze a bunch of power cycles in each day.

There's an overriding "on" switch on the side too.

Worked great, no noise from it, and nothing to lose. Best outlet timer I've worked with. LED Wholesalers GYO2102 Hydroponic Grow Light 24-Hour Timer'
