Captain America The First Avenger Movie

Grandson received this from Amazon on his birthday--delivered on time as promised. He said that Captain America is great and is very happy with this super hero. I haven't seen the toy as it was delivered directly to the birthday boy. Based on our 5-yr-old's remarks, though, I would say he would recommend it for anybody who likes to play super hero. I ordered Polo Ralph Lauren Men's Vaughn Sneaker,Black Soft Leather,10.5 M US Polo Ralph Lauren Men's Vaughn Sneaker,Black Soft Leather,10.5 M US and it is really amazing and comfortable. I got it on time ^^. Thanks to this company. The came with extra threaded Boots. Polo Ralph Lauren Men's Vaughn Sneaker,Deep Orange,7 D US

Couldn't find these kicks in London in this colour or in my size, also the price in most London shops started at £75.00. I thought the shape was ok, a little narrow & long unlike Vans, but still comfortable. They arrived on time, its helps having the ability to track them. I like them so much, i'm thinking of buying a leather pair. Money well spent!

Leather Tennis Shoes??? Who'd of thought of it!!!! But they are great -- relaxed nice look. You have the choice of leather or white shoe laces which also changes the look. Can't go wrong with these tennis shoes - Fashion - Olive - Laces - Lace-up'

Exercise Band - fitness, exercise stretch bands

I bought this set of bands to replace the puny resistance band included with the EA Sports Active. After trying each band in this set at shoulder level and fully stretched over the head, the difference between the light and the other bands was significant, but the difference between medium and heavy, however, was indistinguishable.

I did some testing lifting free-weights with the bands and found each band maxed out at 15, 22, and 25 pounds for light, medium, and heavy respectively. The problem is that stretched to waste and shoulder height, the medium and heavy bands are almost identical in resistance at 12 pounds at waste and 17 pounds at shoulder height. In order to have a true heavy band, I'll have to combine the light and the heavy for a 40 pound band.

Pros:

- thick material

- 5 feet in length and will stretch 3 times as long

- can provide a wide range of resistance from 7 to over 40 pounds with some creative thinking

- much cheaper than free-weights

Cons:

- medium and heavy bands are also identical

- requires using multiple bands for significant resistance Aylio Fitness 3 Exercise Bands and Door Anchor (Low, Medium, Heavy)

These bands suffer from limited functionality. They are both too short and too thick.

They are very short: five feet long. This is an issue if you are trying to use them for pilates, stretching, or other related uses. I find them unsuited to such things as wrapping them around the back of my shoulders, or looping them under my foot, etc. They should be at least another two feet long.

The other major issue is that they are very thick. The thinnest is about 15 mil. This is far too much resistance for the lightest gauge band.

I have a different band which I got with a pilates video. It's 10 mil thick. It's closer to what I would consider a light-weight band, though I would prefer something even thinner, perhaps 8 mil. The biggest issue with bands that are too thick is that unless they are sufficiently long, you can't adjust for an appropriately low level of resistance by increasing the slack. This is a basic concept that anyone who has used resistance bands will understand.

If you are looking to use bands purely as a substitute for free weights, these bands would probably work. However, the length is still going to be an issue.

Got these to use to replace the flimsy band that comes with Wii active, they work soooo much better. the only issue that I"ve had with them so far is that they loosen easily and will snap loose if you don't tighten them regularly, but the quality of the bands are wonderful.

These are excellent exercise bands. I can definitely feel the difference in the different levels of resistance. It would be nice if the levels of resistance were marked on the bands themselves or if the packaging had included an insert letting me know the level of each color. I was able to look it up on Amazon, but I think it would be best if printed on the bands. All in all, I think these were a great deal.

For several months I had found and used a neck exercise machine at my gym that worked miracles for curing cricks and strains in my neck at night - strengthening the neck muscles totally cured night neck problems. When the machine was removed I was determined to find a replacement. I had never used exercise bands but realized they should be perfect for 4 direction neck work outs. I gained proficiency with them rapidly on my own and use them to maintain my neck muscles. They seem to be the prefect inexpensive solution and I like the gradual and variable resistance they provide - especially for holding the effort against the bands. A perfect, inexpensive, east to use solution for me.

The bands arrived quickly and seem very high quality. My daughter uses them for physical therapy exercises she is doing at home while recovering from a dislocated shoulder. She says they are just like the ones she uses at the physical therapists office. - Resistance Band - Resistance Bands - Fitness - Exercise Stretch Bands'

Satellite Radio Antenna - xm radio, xm satellite radio

The antenna finally died on my 5 year old Sirius radio ... replacement "sirius" antennas are more expensive than those for XM, especially this Belkin and, frankly, have they received poor reviews for durability.

I particularly like the right angle connector for the back of the radio, since I think my old antenna died from continued flexing of the cable at that point. The new cable is fairly flexible, but mine was hard to unravel without a tangle and seemed eager to develop kinks -- take your time and avoid sharp bends and kinks, they might reduce performance.

I think my old antenna gave me 3 bars (of 3) most of the time. With this antenna, I get a solid 3 bars with a clear sky, and fluctuation between 2 and 3 on tree lined residential streets. The signal only drops out with a long under pass. Performance, in other words, is quite adequate despite this antenna's tiny size.

I took a chance since it had worked with Sirius radios for other reviewers. But, it makes sense that the same antenna would work for both systems -- the frequencies are almost the same, at 2320-2332.5 Mhz for Sirius and 2332.5-2345 for XM. No surprise the manufacturers all use the same connectors, etc., etc., -- it's cheaper that way. Belkin F5X004 Auto Antenna for XM

I bought this antenna because the one that came with the Skydock broke...I called numerous places to find a replacement, but no one sold just the antenna..which meant we would of had to buy a brand new Skydock...No! I looked on Amazon.com and found exactly what I was looking for! Received it the next day in perfect condition. My man now has the use of his skydock again. Speedy Delivery and didn't have to contact their Customer Service. I recommend them highly.

I ordered this for my 2nd vehicle adapater so that I didn't have to move everything from one car to the other. I have a Sirius sportster and it works perfectly with it in it's vehicle adapter. Well worth the price compared to the 3x more expensive antenna from the sirius site.

I've never experienced poor reception with this antenna. It works as advertised. If you have several vehicles and do not like to continue to take the antenna out every time you change cars, then just buy an extra for each vehicle. Set it on the top of your car and run the wire down the window stripping outside of the vehicle and then through the glove compartment or behind it. That way you won't have to purchase a new antenna every couple months because you don't keep untangling it and ruining it every time. I use this with my Sky Dock. It orks like a charm. - Xm Radio - Satellite Radio - Xm Satellite Radio - Sirius Antenna'

Avon - concealer

I've been on a mission to find a great under eye concealer for my allergy-induced dark circles for years. I had high hopes for this Avon concealer stick, because the Medium shade was a perfect match for my skin. (I wear Medium Fair shades in most department store brands.) However, it just didn't stay on very well and the consistency was too dry for the delicate skin under my eyes. It looked almost chalky, and mixing it with moisturizer diluted the concealer too much. I will say that it works well for blemishes, including a burst capillary on my cheek that's hard to cover. It's not a terrible concealer, but if you're looking for serious under eye coverage, a product with a creamier consistency might be better. Avon Ideal Shade Concealer Stick in Medium - Concealer'

Computer Accessories - comfortable, case logic

I love the way the book bag looks. The only problem I have is that my 15.6" laptop BARELY fits. I have to squeeze the bag shut before I can zip it up which is a pain. I just don't like that it says 16" laptops and my 15.6" barely fits.

Pros

- Looks awesome

- Great protection for laptop

- Very Comfortable on your back

- Price (only $20)

Cons

- Space (if you have a laptop with the charger in the big pocket then you can only have one small book in the medium one and pens and a 1 subject notebook in the smallest one)

- Laptop specs (technically it fits I just don't feel safe with it)

I'm very disappointed that I have to fight my laptop to get it in this bag. V7 Professional Laptop Backpack 17-Inch CBP2-9N, Black with Gray Accents

Love this backpack! Spacious and perfect size to carry around everyday. While carrying my backpack a round everyday in other bags i would end up with backaches, but this bag provides lots of support and i have no backaches ever! i highly recommend it !

Greatttt Bag to carry your laptop separetly along with your other belongings... light weight and great support for your bag if things get heavy.. i recommend this product to students who walk miles on campus.. Great quality and looks like it would last a lifetime!!

I've never been a fan of messenger bags, so I've been looking for a bag that I can wear as a normal backpack while not looking like a high school student. The inside is super sleek and can hold all of my stuff with ease. The zippers are nice and solid, and will not break easily. Overall, a really great bag that I wholeheartedly reccomend.

This is a social writeup.

I receive this bag & it fits my HP G72-B66US 17.3" laptop perfectly. I am very happy with the bag & the price. Future will tell on the rest; however, it will do the job I want it for. It is not all that frilly, but is functional and well laid out. If you are looking for a no nonsense computer bag that fits the 17.3" computers, this is it. If you are looking for name brand, power window and something that will survive and protect your computer from a fall out of a second story window? Look elsewhere. Although, if you want protection from that fall, I would put myself before the computer anytime. But then that's just me!

This laptop backpack works great for me. I mainly use it to shuttle my laptop and books around campus. It pretty much meets all the demands I have for it, but the mesh pockets could be improved on. At under $20 this backpack is a steal. Another great thing about this bag is that its not marked up with overt brand labeling, which many other bags have been abusing for a while now. Overall, the construction is solid and I would highly recommend this to the average person looking to use this for their basic needs.

This is a social writeup

I just got this backpack and to tell you the truth it looks and feels 'lifetime' durable! These V7 Backpack are very reasonably priced for their quality. The zippers are very strong and the laptop compartment is just right. I would recommend this V7 backpack to everyone. This shows that with a little research you can get quality for a low price.

Very organized with many pockets for all my needs. Its buisness looking. The zippers are sturdy and won't break. Nice side pocket for my bottled beverage. Nice comfortable shoulder straps and perfect length.

This is a social writeup

I was looking for a backpack that did not look like a typical backpack since I was going to be using it while I ride my motorcycle, plus I did not want the bulkiness of a regular backpack. My criteria (in order) were this: 1) Designed for a 17" laptop 2) Lightweight 3) Roomy 4) Easy to put on and take off 5) Durable

I found this bag to fit all of my criteria and more. I have been using it for more than a month and am quite happy with the backpack. In fact I have taken to using it even when not riding my motorcycle.

4 stars for an excellent backpack. - Case Logic - Comfortable - Backpacking - Computer Accessories'

Historical Fiction - series, travel

Nothing in the world makes you feel better than a Betsy-Tacy book, and, in my opinion, Heaven to Betsy is the best of them all, although every other Betsy-Tacy book is a close second.

A male friend of mine who read the whole series describes Lovelace as the American Proust. You are THERE with Betsy and her family in Deep Valley, Minnesota, starting in 1897 and concluding 20 years later.

Along the way you relive a happy childhood and with Betsy and her friends--and then go on to a typical adolescent teenage period, before the last two books, which include Betsy's adventures in the Great World and, at last, her marriage and early wedded life to the guy she's loved since the day she met him.

Home schoolers and their parents love these books. The quality of the writing is unsurpassed, the values are superb and these girls are great role models, without being in any way boring--they are altogether too human for that.

You want laugh out loud funny? Read a Betsy-Tacy book.

You want a few tears and a lot of empathizing?

You want nostalgia, and love, and joy? Lovelace delivers them all, in spades.

Amazing, accomplished women all over the world love these books. Don't miss out on one of the greatest pleasures life can afford--an introduction to the world of Betsy Ray. Betsy and the Great World/Betsy's Wedding

This is two volumes republished as one, covering Betsy Ray's life from after high school until the last of the immortal trio marries - republished in gorgeous editions with lots of bonus material about the real life originals of the characters, including pictures. Plus an introduction by Anna Quindlen, who loves these books almost as much as I do.

Betsy Ray has definitely grown up. The story picks up after Betsy leaves college. She spends a year touring the Great World, spending enviable amounts of time in Italy, Germany, and England, starting with a romantic ocean crossing. As usual, the real story is in the people Betsy meets. Will she forget her high school soulmate Joe and spend the rest of her life in Italy with the swoony Marco and his wonderful aunts?

Read the book and find out who she marries in Betsy's Wedding. Either way, I guarantee it is just about the most romantic wedding you ever saw. AND Betsy's first few years of marriage make interesting, funny, sweet reading too.

Maud Hart Lovelace tells a fascinating story with the deft touch of a real writer. Her descriptions of Europe are realistic enough that you can almost retrace Betsy's steps. She makes the first glorious days of marriage and setting up a household vivid, too. The newlyweds of 1914 are not so different from the newlyweds of nowadays.

In the final pages the Crowd dances at Tib's wedding, a fitting conclusion to the ten books that tell their story starting at age 5.

I read these books as a child and reread them to this day. The first four books, Betsy Tacy, Betsy Tacy and Tib, Betsy and Tacy Go Over the Big Hill, Betsy and Tacy Go Downtown are wonderful for a girl age 5 and up. The books progress in reading level as they go, as well as in themes. The final six books in the series, just reissued in 3 2-book volumes, are absolutely amazing. They are Heaven to Betsy/Betsy in Spite of Herself; Betsy was a Junior/Betsy and Joe; Betsy and the Great World/Betsy's Wedding and are great for a girl age 9 and up. We follow Betsy through four years of high school, with dances, rides in autos, boys and hijinks. Then she's off for a year of travel in Europe just prior to the outbreak of WWI and then she returns home to marry her high school sweetheart and begin on her writing career. Lovelace based these books on her own upbringing in Mankato, Minnesota and they are simply wonderful. This summer I traveled to Mankato for the Betsy Tacy Convention and saw Betsy's, Tacy's and Tib's house. I cannot wait to read these with my own daughter, but in the meantime, I will continue to reread them. They are my literary equivalent of comfort food. Fans include such bestselling authors as Meg Cabot, Laura Lippman, Anna Quindlen, Nora Ephron, Judy Blume, Nancy Pearl, Joyce Maynard, and Mary Kay Andrews!

I read Laura Ingalls Wilder and Anne of Green Gables, and loved both, but it was Betsy Ray who really stole my heart! I read each of the "high school and beyond" books over and over when I was in high school, and continued to read them into college and beyond. Betsy's life resonated with me -- from her concern over her social status to her love of writing; her house as a haven for other teenagers to her guilt over times she was not true to herself. I used her a role model -- sometimes of what not to do! (Procrastinate! Neglect what gives you joy, even if it isn't "popular." Keep your feelings hidden -- you'll end up at the most important dance of the year with the wrong boy!)

I learned that decisions have consequences, and that it was worthwhile to think things through a bit. The fact she "lived" so many decades before me didn't matter -- human nature doesn't change that much, and setting limits with boys, seriously considering basic faith beliefs, neglecting schoolwork, and gathering with friends for all kinds of good times (dancing, sledding, talking, plotting, ...) -- are issues that ring true at any time period!

I liked that she was a "typical teenager," with problems and silliness and fun times and worry and heartbreak and joy. I especially liked that Betsy was always, always available. She was a comfort read, she was a steady friend during the sometimes trying times of adolescence, and it was -- and is -- always wonderful to open the pages and walk into the Rays' house again. (Could you pass me a muffin? Oh, and some fudge!)

In this two-volume set, Betsy leaves Deep Valley and finally explores The Great World -- then she returns home, to her first two years of marriage. I can honestly say, as someone who teaches Marriage courses in college, that the description of Betsy's marriage is one of the best I have ever read -- it is true to what happens as two people learn to live together, to make adjustments, to consider another person's feelings (sometimes even before your own). It does not paint marriage as "happily ever after" -- it shows that marriage takes work. I was fortunate to know that from my own parents, but not everyone is, so I recommend "Betsy's Wedding" to anyone considering getting married, no matter how in love they may be.

(And if you like reading about Betsy, make sure you read "Emily of Deep Valley" -- my personal favorite! -- and "Carney's House Party," too!) - Maud Hart Lovelace - Historical Fiction - Travel - Series'
