My original battery for my Macbook Pro late 2008 was nearing 600 cycles, so I figured it was time to get a new battery. This battery is a 4600 milliamp-hour battery, or more accurately, a 50 Watt-hour / 10.8 Volt battery. It's a direct replacement for the Apple OEM battery (Apple Manufacture part number MB772LL/A). The shipping was fast, and on schedule, and customer service is quick to reply. The Apple OEM part is $80, so buying this item was about 30% cheaper for what was essentially the same product. I bought this item as a replacement for my original battery for MacBook Pro (late 2008).
Once installed it works well but I want to share that there is no "super" capacity of any kind. The battery is just original 4600 mAh, not 5200 as declared in description. Very disappointing to find out such a lie on Amazon what I always considered as reputable site before.
I chose this battery because it was the cheapest solution from a trusted source (Amazon) that I could find. I was hopeful for the supposed "Super Capacity 5200mAh" capacity advertisement, but based on a little research, wasn't holding my breath.
When I installed it, Coconut Battery showed it at 99% efficiency with only 4600mAh as a maximum, not the 5200mAh as advertised.
After three full charge cycles (including a deep cycle), it was down to 3400mAh maximum capacity, and I was a little disappointed. HOWEVER... due to how busy I am, I did not take the time to return it, and decided just to keep it as-is. For the price, I guess I wasn't expecting much. But then after about 25 full charge cycles, I opened Coconut Battery again and it was registering back up at 4557mAh, which was a welcomed surprise!
Now I get about 4 hours of general internet/typing usage, which is great for me. For the price, it was well-worth it.
I gave the battery a 4 star in my first review, but I needed to come back after 4 charge cycles. I can now give it 5 stars. I am at 98% capacity after 4 cycles. This is an awesome battery replacement, especially at 60% discount from OEM. I highly recommend this replacement battery to all Macbook Pro users. I am now getting 4+ hours of internet, and word processing tasks.
My original battery was about 2 years old and after about 1000 load cycles, was only lasting me about 1-1.5 hours per charge. I bought this new battery in hopes of extending it back to the 3-4 hours I used to receive when my computer was new. It boosted it to about 2 hours for the first 2 weeks I owned it, and now after only about 3 weeks. It is already dying after only 1.5 hours. This is with power saving options on and screen on dimmest setting. This has been one of my worst purchases from Amazon to date.
I've been using this battery for a week, and after several cycles it is stable, at about 89% of theoretical OEM battery capacity.

This battery is ok for the price but it is a far cry from being equal to the original battery. For $50 it is worth the price (if it lasts a year). Current capacity as new is 4100. It seems to discharge a lot faster as well. Day 3 of use and the battery is down to 89% of life (not charge, but life capacity).
