Heavy-duty Staplers - electric stapler, stanley bostitch

After years of using a manual stapler, I broke down and purchased an electric one. I process an enormous amount of paperwork and go thru a strip of staples on a daily basis. This simple device has been a life saver! It saves me a great deal of time and aggravation. Solidly constructed and has yet to jam. I have owned this stapler for over a year. It always works and never jams, even though I have given it plenty of reason to do so. It uses an electro-magnetic plunger which is very fast and extremely powerful. It is a bit loud, but I can put up with that for dependability. I am very happy with this product.

We have these all over our office. It justs works. (Well, it doesn't work if you put in too many sheets. But it doesn't break.)

It does make a loud, satisfying bang. Might not be the best choice if you have sleeping babies next to your home office.

I purchased an electric stapler as we staple a good number of homework assignments twice a week, and we thought this would make things easier. In a matter of a couple of months the product went from working well, to having issues, and then it completely broke down. The stapler was always treated well and did not endure anything harsher than sitting on a desk in the same place and doing what it is supposed to do.

The issues that the stapler started to experience were that it would only staple one set of paper and lock up. It usually did this right after we loaded a new set of staples, and once we got down a few staples, the issue would stop occurring (we could resolve the issue by opening and shutting the staple slot). Then it become more frequent, to the point where it will now only ever staple one set of paper and then have to be reset by opening and closing.

A stapler is a really simple piece of machinery and this simply shouldn't happen. This is a poor quality manufacturer and I would suggest purchasing a more expensive electronic stapler unless you will rarely use it (and then why are you buying an electric stapler?).

Purchased this stapler from Amazon less than 3 months ago. Comes with no manual or any support material for troubleshooting. Died without a whimper even though used sparingly. Feels like throwing moneay away. AVOID THIS PRODUCT!

This seems like a good unit until it starts to not trigger when you try to staple something. the construction is sturdy to say the least. Bombproof actually. The problem is that inside (I broke it apart after it totally failed entirely to work) there is a circuit board that is connected to the trigger. The circuit board is just behind where any fowled up staples will often get ejected to when the unit is triggered but there's no paper to staple into (a symptom you'll likely experience after a while). The problem is that the used staples fall back into the stapler and then land on top of the circuit board which causes it to short out and malfunction (will finally "shoot" the staple seconds after you've triggered it (inserted paper to staple). by the time it "shoots" you've already removed the paper because it's clearly not working correctly. If they'd just somehow cover up the circuit board to keep these stray used staples from landing on it, the unit would be great. stupid design mistake.

Stanley Bostitch Electric Full Strip 20 Sheet Capacity Stapler With Anti-Jam Mechanism (02210) The stapler works great. No jamming problems and easy to refill with standard staples. It is a little loud but worth it. The price was better than other close models I looked at. - Stanley Bostitch - Office Supplies - Electric Stapler - Desktop Staplers'
