Garmin Nuvi Mount - garmin mount, garmin nuvi vent mount
This product works perfect in my 2001 Toyota Camry. I have attached it to the vent just to the right of the steering wheel and it works just perfect to hold my garmin Nuvi 255W. It is now as easy to glance at the Garmin as it is to glance at the speedometer or any other dash intrument while I am driving.
It is small and unobtrusive so I just leave it attached and only remove my Garmin when I am away from the car.
I would recommend. It is an excellent product for the price. Car Air Vent Mount For Garmin Nuvi & Some Streetpilot GPS
This is really a good product, it places the GPS so close to your hand and your view that it really helps. It might shake a bit on rough roads but thats ok. Extremely useful and easy to install. It does interfere a bit with the ovement of inner vent (since mine is a Hond Accord), and i like to keep the blower right on my face. However its worth the price.
Great product, works as advertised. Holds my Garvin Nuvi 7series just fine, just make sure your car has the right direction vents or this will not work. Read this product description very well before you buy. Great product!
It does what is said on the description.
the 2 clamps holding is slightly loose fit, it take some time to learn how to use it.
you can't use this for some of the cars where the AC vents are slightly at an angle.
most of the old cars this will fit.
These are nice for trips because you can easily view the Garmin GPS without the glare of the car windshield.
It has one problem. The two legs that mount on to the air vent slide on and off very easy. That means you can lose them one of them very easily if you're in a hurry to put the GPS away in the glove compartment or back in the case. I learned that the hard way and had to buy another whole unit.
I figured out an easy solution. I bought a small plastic screw, bolt and washer from my ACE hardware store and mounted it in slot between the two legs. Now the legs don't come off and I don't have to worry about losing them.
The vent mount for the Garmin Nuvi works, but it is a bit tricky to install and remove. I would suggest removing it when parking your vehicle because it could tip off thieves that you have a GPS unit in the car. I had to use a small screwdriver to help unhook the mount from the vent. When doing this, you have to be careful not to damage the louvers in your vent.
The support arm at the bottom of the unit just rests on the vent. When I hit several bumps while driving it slipped off and caused the GPG to tilt down. I had to hold the vent mount in place while driving over a bumpy stretch of road.
The manufacturer did not include assembly and installation instructions with the vent mount. I had to contact the vendor, who promptly e-mailed instructions, including a video, showing how to mount the unit in the car vent. I would give the seller 5 stars for prompt tech support, but only 3 stars for the vent mount itself.
This simple, little piece of plastic is the best thing since sliced bread. It works better than any suction or bean bag holder. It's not quick to remove so if you use your GPS in two cars, I suggest buying another vent holder and an extra cradle. Then all you have to move is the GPS.
I was hesitant to buy this item even though it had great reviews. I'm glad I did! It is fairly cheap in price, and seems like it wouldn't do a good job, but surprisingly it locks the Garmin unit in fairly good. If you are looking for an alternative to the suction cup mount, and for a good price, I would highly recommend this mount!
This is the second vent attached mount for a GPS that I've had and I really like it better than the others. I don't have any metal in the cockpit to mount a magnetic one. I don't like the bean bag type as it slides during extreme turns or braking. The suction ones block your view and are too high for my line of sight. The one that plugs into the cig lighter is too low and you can lose track of the road while trying to read the map. This is just the right height for me. I can look at it by moving my eyes, not my whole head. - Garmin Mount - Garmin Nuvi - Garmin Nuvi Vent Mount - Garmin'
