Digital Slr - camera batteries, d5000

It's a battery so there's not too much to say, although this battery has enormous performance gains over the D90's EN-EL3e, I'm rockin' two of these suckers in my D7000 and I don't know when I'll actually need to charge them again since they've barely gone down at all after a week of heavy usage. Nikon EN-EL15 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery for Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera (Retail Packaging)

Bought this to have a back up battery for our two week trip to Greece. Ended up forgetting the battery that originally came with the camera and had only this one. Only had to recharge it once during our trip and we took approximately 1500 photos and 2 HD videos.

As each new camera comes out Nikon is updating the capacity of their battery hence the increase in price. One battery will last well over 900+ shots (not using flash of course). Though its just good measure to have a back up battery for peace of mind and if you are using the MB-D11 grip which too is kind of costly as well.

I take a lot of photos and never want to be without power. This Nikon proprietary battery lasts a long time and charges very quickly. I definitely recommend it for anyone that shoots photos more than just occasionally, and the price is very reasonable.

Great product. Purchased for extra power supply during long travels and cruise. Came in handy when traveling in the philippines and had no time to charge up primary battery. A "Need to have" item for photo enthusiast. Came in original box, sealed and in perfect condition.

I've just upgraded from the Nikon D90 to the D7000 and did a brief comparison of the two batteries.

On the bright side, we do get a better battery... the battery used for the D7000 (EN-EL15) packs about 17% more power than that used for the D90 (EN-EL3e): Improved to 14Wh from 12Wh. The list price for the battery used for the D7000 ($72) however is 41% MORE than the list price for the battery used for the D90 ($50.99). In the world of electronics a 20% performance improvement seems seems normal and reasonable, but a 41% price increase for essentially same type of item defies expectations. Given that a backup battery is essential for any serious photographer, the pricing on the EN-EL15 is disappointing. The EN-EL15 costs about 21% higher in terms of cost per watt hour provided by the battery compared to the EN-EL3e. - Nikon - Camera Batteries - D5000 - Digital Slr'
