My daughter and her friends love these uni-fins. You can't get them tight enough if you have bare feet. BUT - if the child wears swim shoes (the kind with the rubber sole) the strap will grip much better, and the rubber soles of the shoes keeps the fin from coming off. Here's the kind of swim shoe I mean: Easy USA - Girls Aqua Water Shoe, Black, Royal. My daughter has used her mermaid fin hundreds of times in the past two years, no problem. This product is fun and is a great idea but for the price it is made very cheaply and it broke where the strap is hooked to the product. I was able to fix it using waterproof glue but it is poorly made. So its fun just be very careful!
My 10 year old loves this fin but gets so frustrated every time she uses it. It only stays on for less than 10 seconds as she swims, no matter how loosely or tightly we adjust the strap. Great concept, great toy, bad product execution.
My girls LOVED this fin. It was the centerpiece of a birthday party. Everybody tried it, and it is a great piece of exercise equipment, too. But the strap broke on the second day--it tore right off the neoprene strip that holds the fin to the back of the foot. :( - Swim Fins - Finis'
