Storage - storage, kayak storage
I purchased the Talic "Kayak Condo" from DBS, Inc. about a month ago. Delivery was very quick and the transaction was handled professionally. The product, Kayak Condo, holds two kayaks on the wall of my garage. It was pretty simple to install, took about an hour only because I took my time. It looks great and holds our kayaks high off the floor leaving plenty of room to store things under them (lawn mower, etc.). Everything seems very stable and loading/unloading is not difficult. I recommend the Kayak Condo to anyone with a kayak as an excellent storage option. By the way, while I bought a Kayak Condo to hold two kayaks, you can buy a kayak condo for a single kayak or for three kayaks. Beyond that you need to get another rack. Talic Kayak Condo 2
We are new to kayaking and were uncertain how to hang our boats in the garage. This really couldn't be any more simple to put up on the garage wall. Find a few studs and throw it up on the wall. Before long, your Kayaks will be displayed on the wall in a safe manner for you to ooh and aah at everytime you pull into the garage. I highly recommend this product. It's sturdy and the boats slide right in. There is even room left over to slide your paddles in so you don't really need anything else.
We have a three car garage and three cars! In other words, we have no place for kayaks! We ended up putting the two of them on a Talic Kayak Condo 2 and putting it on the wall above our pick up bed. We had to move the rack back so the boats would not hit the cab and we had to put it up high so the walls of the truck bed would not hit the boats. We simply back the truck in and stand in the bed with the boats and put them on the racks. We do the same thing to get them down. One of the kayaks is 50lbs and the other is 38lbs. so the lightest one goes on top--both are 12'. It isn't hard to do and sure gets the boats out of the way. We can put the paddles on the racks and the PFD's hang from them too.
As far as installing, my husband had a friend with tools over and they used a stud finder and tape measure to figure out how to hang them, then they used a drill. It took about an hour--mainly because of the tricky truck measurements.
These are nice looking racks and the webbing is gentle on the boats. - Storage - Kayak Storage'
