Tv Mounts - easy, flat panel wall mount

My wife and I decided to mount our 32" Vizio tv on the wall instead of utilizing an entertainment center. I will admit, I was a little intimidated with the prospect of mounting a semi-expensive TV on my wall. I had a flashback to a time when I mounted a lighting fixture on an apartment wall only to hear it fall in the middle of the night, scaring the bah-jeebuz out of us.

I looked through mounts ranging in price from $20 to $200 and decided to go with the one that included a stud finder in the box, the Amazon Basics Articulating Universal TV Wall Mount.

I ordered it with Prime and received it quickly. The box was heavy, but frustration free, as advertised. Upon opening the box, I noticed several bags including screws, brackets, and of course, the stud finder. I took out all the pieces and started reading the directions (to be honest, the type-face on the instructions is kind of small). As I looked through the instructions, I found them fairly easy to navigate and understand.

Here is the one knock, and it is not against the mount at all, but against myself. If you have a house built in the 1920's, you probably have thatch walls covered in plaster, this renders the stud finder useless. Live and learn. I did test the stud finder on a traditional wall in our finished basement and it worked fine.

The mount is easy to assemble and easy to attache to the wall, once you find the studs. You only need to drill four holes and insert the provided wall anchors, mount the backing plate with the built-in level, and then tighten down the screws. After that, attache the bracket to the back of your TV (this may require adding the supplied extension arms). After that, slide the bracket onto the piece you attached to the wall. There is a cable guide in the back which works well for running your power cord and other AV cables down your wall.

You will have a multitude of screws and washers left over when you are done. Since the mount is universal, you ca save those in case you decide to use the mount for a different TV later on.

The entire installation took me 20 minutes. If I could sum it up in one word, it would be easy. I firmly believe anyone who has ever hung anything on a wall (picture, shelf, cork board, whatever) can install this product and feel good about it. I looked around, read tons of reviews and decided upon this wall mount. It was a great decision. The mount is incredibally sturdy, it has several swivel points, that lock into place, as well as a tilt feature. You can adjust your tv to pretty much any position and it'll stay securely in place. Seriously, you could probably just about do pull ups on this thing, it's that solid, so, it'll easily hold your tv. The mount has a built in level, so, if you can read and operate a hand drill and screw driver, installation is a breeze. This was a great buy, I'm sure that you'll agree.

I was a bit leery about purchasing the wall mount,as I have never purchased Amazon Basics products before. I am so happy that I did. The instructions are easy and the entire process took about 30-45 minutes, but the mount is VERY secure and sturdy. I am glad that I paid a bit more for the wall mount rather than purchasing a piece of junk. If you want a wall mount that is sturdy and will secure your TV to the wall, then look no further. My TV is a 32" LCD that weighs about 30 lbs. It holds it perfectly and the different options for tilting, swiveling are perfect. The mount that goes on the back would really fit any TV universally, it comes with so many options/bolts of all sizes and even extenders. Once again, all very sturdy hardware. The only thing that is not built well is the stud finder that comes with it. For $39.99 I was not expecting a $20 stud finder by any means, but I do recommend that you have your own just to insure that you secure the mount to an actual stud. Additionally, a power drill is a necessity as the bolts to secure the wall mount are rather large (once again a good thing).

We bought two of these mounts for a 22 inch and 32 inch TV. One TV is a thin led LCD while the other is a CCFL LCD. As any Amazon Frustration Free Packaging everything was easily accessible. The mounting material felt extremely solid and the wire management system is a hook where you wire all your cables through so they look like one big cable instead of 4 small cables. Installing the mount was the only minor annoyance, not because it was difficult to put together, but because the font on the instructions is tiny even though the instructions were very precise. Amazon should post a PDF version of the instructions online for easy access viewing, or just make the instructions bigger. When you put the mount together you will probably not use the 4 extenders seen in the picture. When buying a mount always check your TV's manual to find out the VESA compatibility. Even though this is a universal mount it will make your life easier if you just check the VESA compatibilities of your TV to ensure a smooth installation.

The stud finder is the cheapest part of the set, but the entire package for [...] is a steal. Please note to check that the stud finder will most like NOT work on lath and plaster walls which can make finding studs extremely hard. Also some plaster walls may not have studs. A good way to double check the stud finder is to find a stud first than move the stud finder 16 inches to the right or left. If the stud finder detects another stud than it is accurate because studs are suppose to be placed 16 inches apart from the center of the stud in houses. When mounting the TV make sure the bubble meter is between the two center lines to make sure you mounted the TV straight.

Once installed you loosen the top knob to tilt the TV a max of 15 degrees. Tightening the top knob tits the the TV back to its normal position. Overall the mount is well worth its price range. If I ever have to mount another TV, I will buy this mount again. If you have any questions or comments feel free to ask. - Tv Mount - Flat Panel Wall Mount - Easy - Lcd Wall Mount'
