Noise Canceling Headphones - earphones, bose headphones
This adapter kit has many useful items, especially if traveling by airplane. During long trans-oceanic flights it's kinda nice to be able to use the plane's AVOD with your own headphones/earbuds. The splitter is cool - allows you to share tunes w others.
For the money, this kit is a great purchase. I wouldn't expect the world's greatest signal from these items but good enough for my purposes.
The connections are perhaps, 'ever so slightly loose' on some devices, so it's probably a good idea to exercise caution when connecting/disconnecting.
Items tested:
1. Macbook Pro
2. hp pavilion
3. ipod
4. Samsung Fascinate
5. Motorola Razr
6. iphone
7. Creative Zen
8. ... Boeing 747combi (AVOD) Maxell HP-21 Headphone/Cell Phone Adapter Kit
I bought this kit basically entirely for the airline adapter and it worked perfectly. I was able to use my headphones during an international flight rather than the cheap ones they give you and it was way better.
This bundle is a great value if you need two or more of the items in the package. It contains several useful items:
- A dual-prong adapter that let's you use your own earbuds/headphones on aircraft that use "proprietary" two-prong headsets (common on transoceanic flights). If you've tried to watch a movie in coach on Lufthansa, you know that it's very hard to hear with the airline-supplied headsets. This adapter let's you use your own. Huge improvement.
- A splitter, which let's two people listen to the same iPod at the same time (popular with kids/teens).
- An extension cord, which let's you use wired earbuds/headphones when you're sitting half a room away from the audio jack (I use this sometimes to plug wired headphones into my TV).
- A 3.5mm to 1/4 inch adapter, for plugging mini-jack headphones into equipment like stereo/surround receivers that have only a 1/4 inch jack.
The remaining two items are a bit of a mystery to me:
- One seems to be designed to let you plug 3.5mm headphones into an older phone or cell phone with a 2.5mm jack. I don't have any old phones with small jacks so I wasn't able to test this.
- The "iPhone" adapter is even more of mystery to me, as it appears to be 3.5mm on both ends. I'm not sure what it's for.
The real value of this bundle is if you need at least two of these items, in which case this bundle is cheaper than buying them individually. Even if you only need one of them, the bundle makes sense -- for just a couple of extra bucks, you get all the other adapters and can put them in a drawer for when you need them, rather than having to run to RadioShack. These are not high-end adapters (no gold plating here), just good basic adapters to make stuff play well together. Handy to have around. - Headphones - Earphones - Bose Headphones - Headset Adapter'
