The cable worked as advertised. Buyers do need to make note that the connector configuration makes is go 'up' rather than the conventional 'down' once its plugged.
For the price, I went ahead and bought it. My fix was to route it behind the drive so there is not kinks. It worked since the cord is long enough. Cables Unlimited 18-Inch SATA Cable Right Angle Connector to Straight Connector
The cable itself is good quality and works fine.
However, potential buyers should take note, as one of the prior reviews points out (I wish I had seen it before purchasing) - the right angle connector is upside down. The notch forces you to route the cable from the other direction, opposite of what everyone would expect. This means it may not allow you to use what your case provides for securing cables (definitely with Dell cases). I don't understand why a manufacturer would do this.
Since SATA cables are commodity items, I'd recommend going with some other.
Why dell puts their harddrives so close to the side of the case is beyond me but this one was a lot cheaper than one from dell. the right angle side is configured the opposite way the of the dell model so make sure you get one long enough for the install.
I am entirely happy with my purchase of this cable. Amazon, yet again, has been the retail stores in price! The cable arrived with no problems in shipping or packaging, and after some work installing my new "green" TB drive, I hooked up the cable to it and the motherboard, and it works great. No issues. The right-angle connection actually turned convenient for me, even though I didn't realize it had one (I continuously misread product descriptions, but have been lucky, lol). Will continue to recommend people to come to Amazon for their cabling needs.
They say you get what you pay for and there are certainly more expensive alternatives. If that makes you happy, have at it. This product was priced inexpensively and does the job without a single issue. The connectors fit well and stay connected. There are no issues with the operation of my devices that are connected to these cables. I'm a happy buyer.
I ordered this cable simultaneously with my new motherboard. I got the mobo first, and to my surprise, it came with four(4)very nice SATA cables. Not sure what to say about this. I'm sure it works just find though. - Cable - Internal - Sata'
