I believe this is the only hard case available for portable hard drives at this time. I am using this for my Seagate FreeAgent Go 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive ST905003FAA2E1-RK (Black) and it fits perfectly. It seems like it would fit the TB of this Seagate model as well, but I have not tried. The hard covering of the case feels like it would take the force of falling to the ground with the hard drive safely inside. It seems like it is made out of plastic, with a colored covering with texture. The inside is very soft with a very nice dividing pad, between your cable pocket and your hard drive (to prevent scratches). There is a 'made in china' tag on the inside of the cable pocket, easily removable. All of the packaging was intact in shipping and it came slightly ahead of schedule (fulfilled by Amazon). This is definitely a better option for keeping your hard drive safe, than a cheaper soft case from Seagate or an electronics store. Got this for the Seagate FreeAgent 500g portable hard drive (the one mentioned in the title) and the drive and its cord fit well in the case, which seems like it offers more protection than the soft cases available.
