Car Audio - wiring kits, car audio

First, this kit does not appear to contain 8g wire. I noticed that it seemed flimsy on initial install. When i replaced the wire later, I compared it to known 8 AWG wire, and it was clearly thinner.

Second, there are not enough terminals included. I had to buy add'l (~$[...]).

Third, the fuse block is neither integrated into the primary wire, nor are connections provided. Once again, I needed to purchase butt connectors to wire in the fuse.

Fourth, and most important, this kit is a fire risk. I returned to my car to find the wire completely burned, with char marks all around it. Eventually, the wire had melted the terminal from the battery. Apparently there had been a short (though i never found it), or else the wiring was not of the advertised capacity. However, the included 60A fuse didn't blow. So the wiring is either undersized, or the fuse was oversized, or both. Either way, this is a dangerous setup. Steer well clear. By the time you buy the necessary additional terminals and connectors, you're better off buying the parts separately. Pyramid PBIN3 1000 Watt 20 Feet Amplifier Installation Wiring Kit

Small gauge wires, cheap, but the price was cheap to, so you get what you pay for. So far, works great. Lots of length in the cables, I used it for a boat and had feet of extra wires... Connections on the weak side along with the remote wire, super thin!

We use our boat in the summer months primarily so spending a lot was not an option. - Car Audio - Amplifier Wiring Kits - Wiring Kits'
