Build well, tough, and feels wonderful in hand and while casting. Bought the medium 6'6" version. I use it with Pflueger President and Arbor reels.
Only gripe is that the reel lock doesn't have any padding inside so it's metal on metal when tightening down a nice reel. I switched out reels recently and noticed the foot of the reel was scraped up. No one will see that, but still there is no need or desire to damage nice reels cosmetically.
One caution, this is a one piece rod and is shipped with no padding but some craft paper in a long box made from 2 boxes. The first one shipped to me (via UPS) arrived in a crushed and bent box, the rod was completely broken into 4 different sections. Another rod was immediately sent out (via Fedex) and arrived safely, I returned the broken one with no return issues. So thank you Amazon for correcting the situation swiftly and with no fuss. I bought the 6' 6" medium Vendetta rod and paired it with a Pflueger President XT spinning reel. Good combo. The Vendetta is responsive, good action on a variety or lures without uncontrolled flexion/bounciness. Great distance, smooth casting mechanics with strong low-friction ring guides. Nice grip, good balance.
The rod is one-piece, so it was shipped in a very large package: two boxes taped together into a Franken-box around 7' long. Mine was shipped by Fed Ex, and it arrives with a few superficial dents and creases on the box but the rod itself was in perfect condition.
this rod is amazing.....i have owned man rods over the years and am very partial to bass pro shops rods....my fishing buddy bought a few abu garcia rods and wanted me to try one. i tried the veritas and vendetta and fell in love with the feeling of the vendetta.....you cannot beat the price on amazon. and the rod is amazing. i have the 6'9" ML action spinning rod and its amazing. great rod for fishing soft plastic jerkbaits which is what i use it for. again love the rod!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a decent rod for the money, not great. The first thing that is a bit odd is the small diameter of the grip. I am used to cork handled grips on the rods that I usually buy from Bass Pro. The grip material would be perfect if it were bigger, in this case it's not. I have yet to get used to the feel and the comfort in hand is not there. I read the reviews (on another site) before buying the rod and the comments about the rod weight being heavier than usual are correct. I purchased the medium weight and it feels like a heavy in comparison to other rods. I just recently used the rod on a trip to the grass flats. The rod worked well catching bull reds and big flounder but it was just ok.
