This is a great, large cooler that collapses and folds neatly for storage. Unlike the old, bulky plastic coolers, the Coleman Collapsible chest is lightweight and holds a LOT of product. We took is camping and it stored all our food and drinks for two nights (including a 20 lb bag of ice!). The velcro flip-top is handy if you want to quickly grab something inside. And best of all, when you're done, it folds up flat and securely with velcro straps and can be tucked away. I love this cooler and cannot imagine going back to the hard plastic ones. This cooler is great!! Don't waste your money on more expensive collapsible coolers and spend the extra on this one if you were thinking about purchasing a cheaper one. It's well built and sturdy. I bought it because of the Coleman name, and like my other Coleman gear, it doesn't disappoint.. The handles are solid, the zipper works great, and the outside fabric feels like it can take a beating in the back of a pick-up and still clean up to look like new. The liner is good quality, but you'll have to be carefull pulling out the included frame (although I don't think I will use it as the cooler holds form without it). It folds down flat in a snap and holds with strong velcro (not the flimsy cheap stuff). I haven't filled it full of cans, but it could easily hold 18 cans and ice and some food. I tipped it on it's side and used it to transport a Costco cake--fit perfectly!
I needed a new chest cooler, but was sick of these things taking up precious garage space just to be used a few times a year. This cooler is the answer. The make of it reminds me of an oversized lunch box, but it doesnt leak and keeps my beverages nice and cold. It is, however, a little shorter than other chest coolers which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.
It weighs a ton...so not good to say take on the back of my bike trailer. And it's just so so in use. I know others love it. We got ours from Cabella on sale 3 years ago or more and it's exactly this model and red too. Neighbors bought one and they love it. But seems to lack holding the cold and can leak too if you use ice that melts or packs that leave condensation. Basically well end up selling at a garage sale...just never have one of those...this well be in it when we do. I'd sell it on ebay but it's too heavy and bulky to ship even collapsed for what it is...and it's essentially just like new. I see a lot of others like it like our neighbors? We all have various likes and dislikes and that is what makes us all fun people. I'm giving it 2 stars for concept...but ditches it on the execution.
If you're tired of having your ice chests take up too much space in your garage, this is the one for you. It folds down completely flat and easily opens up into a huge ice chest. It's the only way to go.
Purchased the cooler so we would be able to pick up items that need to be cold on very warm day until we got home. This cooler really fills the bill because it allows us to keep it in the car when now in use, easy set up and knock down, and most inportand keeps the items cool and does not leak all over the car. This chest is also easy to clean and restore to storage area so we always are prepared when we go shopping. Would recommend this chest to anyone who would like to have a good chest at a reasonable cost.
Went on vacation and needed to bring along a large cooler but had limited space. This was the ticket. The setup consists of placing a three tiled reinforcement wall inside the cooler. You need to be gentle in order not to damage the plastic wall interior. Held one large bag of ice and several cans. Used it for one entire week and did not leak. However, there was some sweating on the bottom and the sides of the unit. Would recommend it for folks looking to save space on a trip.
This cooler is really great!! It is strong, holds up very well but collapses easily and folds for storage in a small space. It's a large cooler and great if you need to store it in a NY apartment or similar where there is rarely room to store anything other than essentials!!
This is a great product. It's great to be able to keep it in my vehicle and ready to use when I need it. I don't have to worry so much about rushing home after shopping because I know my groceries will stay cool and comfortable. I have only had it a week and have used it several times already.
Used this in our car on a recent long road trip. Fit perfectly in the folded down seat and when we reached our first stop after 10 hours on the road, everything in the cooler was still cold.
Leave it to Coleman to have a fabulous product. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great cooler which stores very easily.'
