3-way Splitter

Unlike most 3-way splitters, this one distributes the signal evenly, each of the three outputs losing 5.7db from the original input signal. Most 3-way splitters are actually two 2-way splitters in the same enclosure. Each time the video signal is split, the resulting two outputs are down 3.5db in strength. So a 3-way splitter is split the first time, with one outlet labeled "-3.5 db" and the other signal sent to a second internal splitter, where it is split once again, resulting in the other two outputs labeled "-7 db".

Whether the "printed circuit board" in the Monster splitter is the reason they claim to distribute the three outputs evenly, I don't know. Whether this is important enough to spend the extra money on the Monster splitter is up to the purchaser.

When using the standard type 3-way splitter, connect the most critical connection to the "-3.5 db" output. This is usually a digital signal. The less critical connections connect to the "-7 db" outputs. Monster Standard RF Splitters For CATV Signals MKII - 3 Way RF Splitter

I replaced an old two way splitter with this one to add another connection and the 3 TV signals are very clear! I would recommend this splitter to anybody wanting to add more connections or replace their current splitter.

Not sure if it does split all 3 equally but i hooked it up to a tv, digital cable box, and a cable modem and no problems

better than my old one and i took someones advice to make all connections tight with a wrench not sure if it works better but im sure it won't come loose'
