Have these packed in the trailer to use. Yes, they need water to activate the cloth but not much water. You can use warm or cold for hot days. After use, I would wipe my face with a dry terry cloth and the moisture stayed nice on the skin.
Since the cloths are not pre-moistened you do not have to worry about them drying out and going bad. I had a box in the trailer for two summers before they were gone.

I have used these cloths for years. Unable to find them in the stores any longer so was glad to see them on Amazon.com. I believe these cloths are the greatest. They do a great some cleansing and moisturizing your skin. I swear by them.

It gently washes your face, removes everything it should, and doesn't strip essential moisture from your skin. Rinse the soap from the cloth, rinse your face with the cloth and you're done! my girlfriend really likes these because they're very thick. these cloths do a decent job exfoliating. there are little dots on one side that are suppose to help with exfoliation. i preferred some older olays that had little bristles for exfoliation but those have been discontinued, unfortunately.
These cloths are wonderful for travel, as well as for use at home. They work well. They fill in for the wash cloth that is often missing in hotel rooms. Since they are dry, they don't add weight to your luggage and you just throw them away as you go. They are also wonderful to carry in your purse for warm weather. After hours of being out in the heat and sun, my face often feels caked with sweat and sunscreen. It's very refreshing to be able to go into a ladies room and wash all of that off.
