Highly Recommended - highly recommended, black
I just purchased this TV on sale at Penney's because I needed to replace my little one for the kitchen due to the digital change. This TV has a crystal clear picture and I do not have a problem with the sound at all. It picks up all available local channels plus a bunch I never heard of, even on cable. I get around 15 or so, plus one radio channel. I'm only using the telescoping antenna, but it does come with an additional one if needed. It was very easy to set up and I'm extremely happy with it! Eviant T7 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV, Black
I don't usually write a product review but for the 7" Eviant DTV, I had to make an exception. I bought one at JC Penney. I live in the DC/Baltimore area so plenty of stations and plenty of signals. The TV received none of them inside, outside, or with either antenna. I called support, message was to leave a message and they would return the call. No call. Took the TV back, got a second one. Same thing. I emailed tech support which was off-line. No response to either inquiry after several days. Took it back for refund. My experience says bad product, bad support, bad company. Look for a different brand -- I am.

Like many others who have a TV in their kitchen, the DTV switch promised to leave me TV-less, but this was a perfect solution. I tried the converter box 'solution', but the combo of the old 5", with rabbit ears and the converter took up too much space. This TV is perfect. I'm curious when their 4.3" version will arrive.
When I first set it up, it defaulted to auto-scan on startup, which came up with no signals. I bypassed it and went into the menu. The manual scan pulled in 19 channels, which is more than I had with my old TV! I had to fiddle with the antenna to get it to work on most of them, but it's not near a window, so I'd expect that. This DTV transition has been a traumatic experience for my 88-year-old mother, so I'll probably pick one up for her to replace the little TV in her kitchen.
The sound is what I'd expect from a little TV, so I'm giving this a two-thumbs-up.
If it only had a hanger on the back so I could put it on the wall...
After having tried the Haier 7" TV (good quality but poor reception) and the Axion (Would only receive on cable, not through the antenna) I purchased this Eviant. This TV has the best reception by far of the 3 sets that I tried. Very good quality and excellent image for a portable. I would definitely recommend this TV.
As others have pointed out, there is no DC adapter for use in a car, but that is not something I needed. I love the TV. It has a nice picture and sound. It picks up weak signals and it's fun to use. The battery lasts a long time on one charge.
I got this TV for Father's day. Out of the box with their stock antenna, I picked up all of the West Palm Beach Stations (I live in Lake Worth). After some research, I picked up a good outdoor antenna for my 46" TV and hooked this little guy up. Amazingly, I get all of the stations all the way to Miami. TV works great and looks great. It's not 5 stars because I believe there is always room for improvement. This is worth the price of admission if you need a portable device that performs. I am ready for the next hurricane!
So far, so good with this television. I bought it for emergencies, but ended up taking it to work to watch the morning news. I've had no issues with reception and the picture quality is excellent. I don't use it in the car so not having an adapter is not a problem for me. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.
I was so excited about receiving this TV and in red! However, after setting it up, I noticed that there was no car adapter as described under product description above. All the other companies selling this unit and even one of Eviant's own press releases state a car adapter is included. However, the included manual does not list the adapter in the list of included items. So I called Eviant, was sent to voice mail that said to call Nexstar's tech support at an 888#. Nexstar tech support told me they don't support Eviant products and would not be able to help me. I tried Eviant again, trying a different extension, and was very curtly told (maybe getting a lot of complaints?) there is NO car adapter for this model - T7. When I explained their own press release said there was, she said they might offer one later in the year. So I thought I would just buy the adapter - less hassle than ordering a different unit. However, Radio Shack said the DC plug was an odd size and none of their dozens and dozens of adapters fit this TV. So I will return this unit and order the Axion (AXN-8701), a very highly rated unit.
I just received this tv last night. Not a problem setting it up. I agree with one of the reviewers that when I bought the item it did say it included a car charger. When it came to the remote control, I removed the slip separating from the battery compartment and the remote would not work. On further inspection, I removed the battery insert and discovered they did not include the battery, nor do they indicate, in the manual, what kind of battery to use. Amazon stated that it would be impracticable to send the remote back and, for me, to buy a battery and call them and they would credit my account. I did find a notation on the battery compartment door that I believe is the type of battery. In conclusion, TV works the sound and picture is good. Lets hope that is all there was wrong with the order. Would I buy this TV again? Yes unless it breaks down in 30 days. - Black - Highly Recommended - Small Lcd Tv - Battery Operated Tv'
