Indoor Heli - syma rc helicopter, rc helicopter

I'm shocked myself - This is going to be the most positive review I've ever written on any site, for any product - This copter is that good! I caught the heli bug 3 years ago while recovering from a broken hip, going from 2 to 3 to 4 channel indoor copters, as well as a few higher end outdoor models.

Of them all, the Syma S026 Chinook (and make sure it's this one! more on that later)is the most stable and easiest to fly Helicopter in our collection. It does whatever you want it to do - exactly. Having been through the horrors of two-channel units, which really don't do anything but go up and down (and spin out of control! semi-LOL), it's great to find an inexpensive that really flies - not randomly, but lets you be a real pilot.

Hit the up controller and it goes directly proportional to amount of throttle input. Go forward or backwards, and it goes where you want it to. Hover it right next to you, and it stays there until you send it on a new mission. Up, Down; backwards, forwards; sideways and box patterns - no matter what you command, it does it - and does it well.

Following several bumps/crashes into walls, floor and even a wife (I said I was SORRY!) the Chinook is still in one piece. (Knock on wood) The rotors haven't broken yet - a first for me. Usually I lose a rotor on these every other flight.

Now that they're installing LiPo batteries in the small copters, battery life is exceptional as well. Syma provides what they call a balancing charger, which brings my battery to full power in less than an hour.

As long as you can tolerate/understand the comically translated instructions, you will really enjoy this one. I would also recommend for child's use - just make sure they are supervised, and that you have some spare parts too. Top of the list should be an extra full set of propeller blades. Nothing is worse than starting to fly, hitting something just right (or just plain wrong) breaking a blade - and having to wait a week or two for new parts to come. I know one day even I will break a prop, so we always keep a few on hand.

Other than that, I can't see or foretell any other 'consumable' parts in this one. Just (carefully) take out of the box, charge and fly. Whether you're just starting out learning to fly, or are experienced - You're going to like this helicopter - A Lot!

BTW - Syma makes several versions of this copter, as do several other manufacturers. Syma also makes one that's almost the same size and price - It's not the same! Order the S026, and you'll get the right one. Chinnoks are not all the same. Happy Flying. SYMA S026 3CH RC RTF MINI CH-47 CHINOOK HELICOPTER

This little helicopter is great! I am only 11 years old so it has had lots of crashes including it dropping like a stone from a 12 foot ceiling but there wasn't a scratch on it!!! It has crashed into the wall many times and the propellers are still going strong. One really nice thing about it is that it does not plug into the transmitter to charge. I got the idea from a friend who has a fire strike helicopter and his is really nice too but this one is a lot easier to controI. It goes backwards forwards and turns very precisly. This little heli is definitely worth your money.

Was looking for an RC Helicopter for my seven year old grandson that was durable, reasonably oprative extremely easy to controll yet great fun and at a

very reasonable price. He is on his fourth day and has really played with it a lot and it has already passed the air hogs I used to buy by you guessed it four days. Don - Smyrna DE

As a former Chinook Crew Chief in the US Army, I was very excited to get this from one of my sons for Christmas.

I've owned many other RC Helicopters, but this one is by far the best! This one has a feature that the others don't - "Inch Forward" and "Inch Back" (that's what the user manual calls them) buttons on the front of the controller. These are really forward and aft trim settings, but they allow you to do some cool things like fly in an orbit pattern. I've also figured out how to do running take offs and landings.

This toy is very cool (it sounds amazing in flight) and is a lot of fun to fly. I highly recommend it!

Kay, my S.026 helicopter was great for the first week or so, then it crashed outside, and my grandpa fixed it. it flew great for another 2 days then for no reason the helicopter after it took off would point it's nose down and crash land. so I started looking for a new helicopter. as if it knew it would be replaced the next time I flew it it flew like the first time i flew it. it is a great flier!! and VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY durable. ( this includes falling from a 12 foot ceiling hitting the fan on the way and hitting the ground but still flying perfectly.)

THIS IS A GRYO CONTROLLED HELICOPTER!

There are still a few non-gryo S026 versions still sold through Amazon, however, THIS particular one sold by "Hobby Toy Store" and fulfilled by Amazon HAS THE GYRO. Zoom in on the picture of the box. You can see the "G" at the end of the model number, S026G. That means it has the gyro. It also says "Gyro" across the bottom of the controller inside the box.

I only gave this heli 4-stars because it's a bit too heavy for the power it has. In the first 3 or 4 minutes of flight, it lifts and climbs nicely. After that, power tapers off quickly and it will barely hover above the floor.

All other aspects of this heli a great, as long as you don't wish to fly outside. Not only is it too small to fly outside, infra-red controllers are not designed to work outside. The signal is affected by the sunlight. Keep this little bird inside and you will have lots of fun. It is VERY STABLE. You could easily hold it in a dead hover until the battery dies. It also flies forward very well, even better than Syma S107.

You can take this little guy apart and cut out some of the weight (make sure it's equal front to rear). Then it flies better! - Syma Rc Helicopter - Chinook - Indoor Heli - Rc Helicopter'
