Makita Replacement Battery - power tools, makita battery

I've had my Makita 6093D for 17 years and have used it only intermittently for home repairs. One of my two ancient batteries would no longer take a charge and I ordered this item, which arrived by mail in only three days. It charged up fine, was an exact fit, and worked fine putting two-inch screws through 3/4 inch plywood into brittle, 60-year old joists without pilot drilling. The new battery is quite a bit lighter than the old one, 11 oz vs 16 oz, but it is labelled 1.3 amp hour just like the OEM battery and I have no cause to doubt the truth of this. One peculiarity - this made-in-China battery is labelled (incorrectly) as nickel metal hydride, while the box is labelled (corectly) nickel-cadmium and there is a piece of paper in the box apologizing for the mislabeling on the battery itself. Pwr+ 9.6v Ni-cd 1300mah Makita 9000 9033 192696-2 632007-4 Battery Replacement (Makita Equivalent)

I'm very satisfied and feel that I made a good choice. Product arrived very quickly and performed well. I was a little apprehensive about how good a substitute it would be for the OEM battery that cost about twice as much. But it was exactly as described and virtually identical to the original.

I tried to buy these at Home Depot which is where I bought the drill, no go. They said it was too old and they don't stock them or know anything about it. I was able to find them quickly online and they were shipped fast and are working great in my old drill.

This battery is represented as a equivalent replacement for a Makita 9033. This is NOT TRUE, the Makita 9033 has a capacity of 2200 mah, this battery is 1500mah, a big difference and a gross misrepresentation.

Also it is way overpriced.

I am happy with the purchase after shopping around. [...]

I was tempted to purchase the NiMH, but was dissuaded after reading reviews that it might not be compatible with my charger. This NiCD should serve me well for my needs.

After looking around to purchase another cordless drill,I realized it is probably cheaper to just take a gamble and purchase a battery for my old Makita which I liked a lot.

This battery was delivered in a pretty quick fashion and was packaged very well and very reasonably priced.

I first drained it with my Makita flash light, then charged it up with my Makita charger.

I used it today for a short while,it is working great.I might purchase another one in a couple of months depending on how this battery holds up.

UPS showed up just as I was cussing out my vintage original battery for dropping it's charge again. I opened the box and said "just what I needed!" Popped it in my charger and a hour later. What a pleasure to see my true blue drill/driver run like new again!

Seller is deceptive in using a picture of a genuine OEM Makita battery picture and in the title using the Makita part numbers, in parenthesis stating (equivalent). Then "by Makita" as though manufactured by Makita and being "equivalent" to the indicated -other- Makita part numbers. I believe the use of the copyrighted Makita OEM battery photo and "by Makita" is meant to intentionally deceive by this Canadian shipper. I could have bought a honestly advertised Makita-clone for less. Cannot recommend this dishonest seller nor will I buy from them again. - 9000 - Makita Battery - Power Tools - Cordless Drill'

Handsaws - saw, hand tools

Having own cheap-quality saws in the past, I was a bit skeptical when I saw this one, but for such a low price I decided it was worth a try. I was very pleasantly surprised with how quick and smoothly it cuts. I would almost say that it cut a little too fast, but that's just because I was so used to how slow my older saws cut. It took some getting used to, but now it is one of my favorite "sawdust makers"! :) Great Neck N2610 26-Inch Hand Saw-Wood Handle and Chrome Nickel Steel Blade - Saw - Woodworking - Hand Tools'

Easy To Use - cute, weights

I wear these around the house 2-3 hours a few days per week. It's been three weeks and I already see results. They are light enough to not be difficult to wear, but heavy enough to tone the arms of an average woman. They stay on just fine while I cook, clean or play with my son. I wouldn't trust them to stay on through aerobics (if you're looking for a set for that purpose then try the ones that have a thumb hole). Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. Tone Fitness Pair of 3-Pounds Wrist Weights

I went for a run today. I actually liked them on and didn't have a problem. They are velcro straps and fit well especially with my small wrist. They are about a pound each and good for toning up arms. I wouldn't go any more than that just because you will still sweat! Nice product and great cheap investment :) - Exercise - Wrist Weights - Cute - Weights'

Laptop Power Adapters - dell inspiron, laptop power adapters

I would recommend using this seller again. I have 2 boys that have a Dell laptop and after 6 months of purchase the chargers went out. When pricing the chargers in some of the stores I could not afford to buy 2 @ $100.

The 2 chargers I purchased from this seller works perfectly and was delivered promptly.. NEW Laptop AC Adapter/Power Supply/Charger+US Power Cord for Dell Inspiron 1318 14 1420 1425 1427 1501 1505 1520 1521 1525 1526 300m 500m 505M 510m 6000 6000D 600m 610M 630m 640m 700m 710m 8600 8600c E1405 PP23LA m600 pp22l pp25l pp29l

I ordered this for my Dell Laptop when the original one started going bad. The Dell website wanted too much for a new one and most reviews for the Dell brand cords were poor. So, I searched on Amazon and figured I would try this one which was much cheaper than others and had received some good reviews. Plus, if it turned out bad, I wouldn't be out of a lot of money. I am very pleased with this purchase. It works great and does exactly what it should plus it doesn't get hot with use like the original cord did. It's plugged into my laptop right now actually. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It arrived when it was supposed to without any problems. Excellent price, Great buy!

Purchased Nov 2010. I only paid $10 including s/h (didn't have taxes). This works awesome! The end that connects with the laptop is smooth/round instead of slightly ridgid/pentagon cut like the original/factory power chord. But still works excellent! My original one blew out due to sudden power outage in my building.

The product works just as well in charging and providing power. It doesn't have a three pronged grounded connection, but for this price its well worth it. The item arrived from the seller in exactly the correct time.

The seller(LaptopMate) I purchased this from has harassed me with multiple emails since I left them negative feedback trying to get me to change my feedback. The product itself charges fine and supplies enough power but the connections easily come loose and I have to stop frequently when the cord is moved slightly wrong to reconnect everything. I would highly advise that you look elsewhere for a better product from a more professional seller.

I sometimes forget how true the title of my review can be. I have had this charger for about a week, and it charges just fine. The issue I have noticed is that it gets really hot, and in turn, my laptop seems to heat up more than it usually does. I am a little concerned that this might have long-term consequences, but I'm not sure.

3 months ago when I first purchased this charger/adapter, I would have given it 5 stars. But now, 3 months into using it, it will no longer charge my Dell 1525. And while the product description says there is a 12 month warranty, no one seems to know how to contact the manufacturer. I've talked with Amazon multiple times about this, and since it is past 30 days, they say I need to talk to the manufacturer. But they have no contact information for them, and there is nothing on the adapter about who to call. It's manufactured by SIB, but I've yet to be able to find any current information on them. So while the price may be good, if I'm going to be replacing it every 3 months because I can't get the warranty fulfilled, it's no longer such a bargain. - Laptop Power Adapters - Laptop Charger - Dell Inspiron - Dell Inspiron Adapter'

Electronic Device Holder

it's not very often that i feel like i got a fair deal for my money. i was very surprised with this product though. i bought it on a whim, not really expecting it to work.

my first impression was that of solid construction. very heavy duty plastic. the flexible neck is thick and strong and won't move even holding the heaviest device.

i was fairly sure this wouldn't mount well in my 2010 honda fit. the cup holders are all a little oddly shaped. one was small. the other was very large and heavily tapered. another was more rectangular than round. turns out it mounts steadily in all of them.

the device holder aspect it ratcheting. it has pads to hold the device on the sides and two little pegs that fold out to hold the bottom. the pads on the side additionally expand vertically to adjust where they hold the device. all in all, ingeniously flexible in the number of ways it can adjust. considering your device may have controls on the sides and ports on the bottom this is important.

as far as i can tell it would fit just about any size device i can think of. i happen to have a nexus one that is very close to the size of an iphone 3gs.

a note on price / buying options. i paid $15.22 for this. when searching under "nexus one", i found the same bracketron unit listed for $26.99 (plus shipping) from a different seller. quite a difference. there is also another brand, "gomadic". they have a unit that, as far as i can tell, is identical to this model (bracketron). however, it's $29.99. Bracketron UCH-101-BL Universal Cup-iT II Mount with Grip-iT for GPS

I'm pleasantly surprised! This fits my HTC Droid Incredible perfectly, and would also work with an Ipod or GPS unit.

The side arms are independently adjustable, so that each "finger" can be spread apart as far as needed to keep volume control buttons and the charge port accessible. I have them far apart on one side of the unit, and close together on the other...because I can.

The neck bends like sturdy heavy wire and holds its shape.

The base is expandable with an easy turn of the dial, to accommodate wider cup holders. But the best feature is the easy rotation that "pops" into place, allowing one to use their phone in a vertical position, or quickly change it to horizontal view with one hand. The bottom supports fold up or down as needed.

The plastic is heavy and solid feeling--I have confidence this will hold up for some time. But it also came with a lifetime warranty if registered at Bracketron's website.

There was an extra flat plate in the package that would slide onto the base, but has no grip fingers. It has 4 screw holes or could be used with velcro or foam tape. The instructions don't mention the part. I assume it's for permanent attachment to the back of an item that would not fit within the approximate 4 1/2" grip, such as an internet radio receiver or iPad.

Edit after using for several months: The bendable neck's length should be a bit longer, to accommodate low bulging dashboards. This is the same height as my shifter, and moving it to the side puts it at a bad angle for viewing. Another couple of inches would help.

I purchased this item after I purchased an Android phone (which has a great built-in GPS app). I had previously used a Tomtom AIO GPS, attached via a suction cup, onto a dashboard beanbag mount. Wanting to minimize the gadget accessories in my car, I was hoping this would fit the bill and hold my cell phone while driving.

PROS:

*Pretty decent quality plastic, not as flimsy as other cheapo made-in-china accessories

*Decent securing mechanism. The bottom sits in the cup holder, and you rotate a ring which expands the edges into the cup holder

*Flexible neck appears pretty durable, will definitely hold the shape you bend it into

*The gadget holder section can rotate 360, so you can do landscape or portrait orientations. It's also padded, with "arms" which can be arranged so that they don't accidentally press on side-buttons. Could easily snake a car charger into the gadget of your choice.

CONS:

*Unfortunately, the flexible neck is really really short. Extremely short. Unless your cup holders are at the very front, directly adjacent to the dashboard, and elevated, whatever it's holding is essentially right at your side, and not in front of you. A real problem for GPS in my opinion, as you'd really have to look down and away from the road a bit more than I think is safe. I'd seen other ones which were much longer, but based on the photos here, I should have known better.

If you want it to hold a mp3 player or something, probably not a problem. But then why not just put the mp3 player directly into the cup holder then?

I'm going to try a generic suction cup phone mount to attach to my old beanbag dashboard mount.

The mount is well made but it's fit in the cup holder was, despite the adjustable feature, a bit difficult to get a tight fit. Depending on where your cup holder is located, it can be somewhat in the way. It is necessary to put the holder in the first cup holder[the one nearest the front of the car]which, again depending on where your auto cup holders are, make it quite awkward to use the rear cup for one's drink. In my case there was no other choice [it gets so hot in summer that the suction cup for a similar device just would not stay on] and this item functions reasonably well. Would I recommend it; yes if you can,t use the model that goes on the windshield.

I had been searching for a good GPS holder/mount for my golf cart. Do not like suction cups. This is the best I am soooo happy with it It fits all cup holders and stays stationary over bumpy terrain. The best part the cost is 3x less than other mounts at the big stores.

I bought this product to hold my ipod touch so it would be easier (and safer) to quickly unlock the screen while I was driving. I has worked out great and I've also found that it adjusts wide enough to hold my TomTom GPS. No more suction cup marks on my windshield! The only down side I've found with it is that it's a little cumbersome and when I put it in my Mazda Protege 5, with the location of the cupholders I have to work it a little to bend it out of the way of the gear shifter. Other than that it's great! I'd much rather lose a cupholder when I want to than have to permanently install something inside my car.'

Windows 7 Starter - netbooks, windows 7 starter

Awesome netbook, I highly recommend it. I just got it and its fast fun, great for pretty much everything I'm looking to do, mainly internet, videos, photos and such. Haven't fully tested the battery life yet, but seems to be at the 8 hour mark at least. Keyboard is big for a netbook not many accidental key strokes, however again the arrow keys are too small for a 2 year old.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was same as the other people.

A. The speakers are crap and hardly worth the 2 cents they paid the chinese kid to put them in. Didn't expect much but got even less.

B. It's a little flimsy if you push on the back of the screen while its on you can see your finger move through the screen. But again what do you expect for the money. (in its defense my last laptop was a toughbook so i may be a little bias on that aspect as most netbooks are a little flimsy)

C. Last but not least Acer you really screwed up on this.... cause you had it right before. My ex girlfriend had the ACER model before this and thats why I decided to buy one, she loved it I loved it it was awesome I believe the model number started with a11 something. I ordered the 2gb ram with hers and it was the easiest thing in the world to install. 2 screws on the bottom a plate pops out boom old ram out new ram in 1 minute installation.

This stupidly designed thing requires you to pop all these little tiny clips holding the keyboard in and wedge it up with a credit card. Then unscrew 4 screws one of which is directly next to the keyboard ribbon which just makes it harder and makes you nervous to screw it up. Then you have to pop out the entire plate off the bottom, old ram out new ram in, and then reverse the steps, popping plate back on, screws and then keyboard. Its not hard by any means a 6 year old chinese kid made the thing so I would think any respectable adult should be able to handle it (smaller hands definitely makes it easier). But when you have a brand new laptop you really don't want to risk screwing it up and I don't know why you would need to disassemble half the damn thing to do it.

Thats my only gripe...... and with 2gb of memory ($25 upgrade on amazon) I think its pretty damn amazing, highly recommend it to anyone that is in the netbook market, its the cheapest for its specs and at current I have no complaints with it. So buy the damn thing... Acer Aspire One AOD255E-1802 10.1-Inch Netbook (Diamond Black)

Very well made! Works fast with MS Office 2010! The N550 CPU is great.

I upgraded the memory to 2GB and it made it lots faster. My Windows 7 starter edition performance score went from 2.0 to 2.9. The increase was mainly in graphics performance.

Screen is crisp and very readable. I couldn't be more pleased with this netbook.

Goto below for memory upgrade instructions.

[...]

This is powered by dual core N550 processor. overall netbook is very light and compact. Just perfect screen and 1.3Mp webcam.

I am able to play 720p Videos without any issue. I am not sure about Battery life, but with current drain it should clear 8 hour mark. ( I got this Netbook yesterday - 1st Feb 2011)

I feel it very hard to upgrade the memory since there is no memory slot on the back of the netbook, Some minor issues are tiny arrow keys and feeble speakers.

Positives:

- Dual core Atom N550 processor.

- perfect screen and 1.3 MP webcam.

- Large mouse pad for the netbook

- Light and easy to handle & easy to carry it around

- Long battery

- Can handle 720P HD Video

Negatives:

- Touch pad buttons hard to click

- feeble speakers, can not get stereo effect. ( can not make out L-R speakers)

- Arrow keys are very small.

- Runs hot with HD Video

I am happy with the purchase so far. Worth for the amount paid

I just got this item today and while I think I'm going to like it, it has some pros and cons.

I am a truck driver and wanted something smaller than my full sized laptop to use inside the truck for some basic things such as writing and watching movies. I decided to order a Liteon external top loading cd/dvd burner, so if I picked up a movie on the road, I could just plug in the player and watch. Well, after getting the netbook set up, I plugged in the player and discovered that Windows 7 Starter does not support playing dvd's. The computer recognized the burner and the dvd I had inserted, it just refused to play it! The only options I was given was to purchase the necessary codex to play dvd's or upgrade to a higher level of Windows 7. This did not make me happy. I jumped on the internet and found this was a problem many people were encountering with their new netbook purchases. It did not matter what brand netbook. The problem is with Windows 7 Starter! I quickly found a fix through the advice of others. I simply downloaded a free media player. I went with the "VLC Media Player" and it is working fine!

My only other complaint is that the A/C adapter that came with this purchase is made for an asian power socket. They do provide you with an adapter for the adapter, which allows you to use standard US power sockets. I just find this a bit unnecessary. Why didn't they simply provide an A/C adapter that was made for US socket? Also, this adapter is made where if you want to use it on a power strip, you have to use the outlet on the end of the strip or the body of the adapter will cover several of the other outlets on the strip. I had to rearrange all my devices power cords in order to use this.

As I use my netbook, I will update this review as I learn more about it. So far the netbook itself seems wonderful. Light, powerful and a great screen with which to watch movies. I hope there are no other bad surprises like how pitiful Windows 7 Starter is, and the inappropriate overseas power cord. If I find no more problems, I think this purchase will be a very good one! I do suggest you do a little research on Windows 7 Starter before making this purchase. - Aspire - Windows 7 Starter - Netbooks - One'

World War Ii Fiction - historical fiction, world war ii fiction

It is exciting that this, a first novel, is doing so well and garning excellent reviews. It is historically accurate and revealing of little known WWII events. It seems to me that the plot as it developes, with the excitement of the settings, and the likability of and interest in the characters, would translate very well to a very colorful movie or TV special. Events like these did change the course of WWII and this book brings their importance to a wider audience. I do recommend this book to younger readers; it is hard to find exciting stories with the ring of truth that are suitable for middle and high school readers. That does not mean that adults can not share the book's most enjoyable reading! Footsteps to Forever: A World War II Thriller

Sam Baty's knowledge of WWII events, personalities, and locations makes this a pleasurable way to learn about that era of our history. It's an easy-to-read book combining love stories and wartime adventures set throughout the different parts of the world affected by WWII. You could feel the divisiveness over participation in the Third Reich activities even within the German army itself. You will learn about behind-the-scenes conflicts and negotiations that led up to some of the major confrontations of the war intertwined with the tales of the fictional characters who were impacted by them.

You are not bogged down in details, and the story moves quickly throughout the entire WWII era. If you want a book that ties up all the loose ends at the finish and is a complete stand-alone story on its own, you might be disappointed. It's pretty obvious that Baty has a sequel in mind because you are left with too many "What happened to...?" questions at the conclusion of the book. It's like a movie that has you captivated about what comes next when the ending credits start rolling and you find yourself screaming at the screen, "What??? That's IT???" So if the story grips you and there is a sequel, you'll have no choice but to get it, too. So it goes. It worked for J.K. Rowling.

Sam Baty does a masterful job in bringing several issues to the fore front in "Footsteps to Forever". To begin with, can one's conscience get in the way of making proper decisions? Or when, might you ask, is the price of a mission too high? Can one look beyond the obvious and see the good in humanity? These and other issues are inner woven throughout the novel. Instead of putting forth preconceived answers, the author graciously restrains himself and allows the reader to answer these and many more questions for himself.

Just how close to completion was the secret heavy water project? One can only speculate on what awaited us had the Germans successfully completed it. In conclusion one might sit back and ponder the sacrifices made by these individuals, and many more, to secure our freedom.

When you begin to read "Footsteps to Forever" be prepared not to close the book. The author does a magnificent job in keeping your interest peaked at every turn.

I thoroughly enjoyed Footsteps to Forever. The characters were engaging. Since I'm not a WWII buff, the background could have lost me, but I found the story easy to follow, informative, and entertaining. I'm looking forward to Part II to see what adventures await Jennifer next.

Footsteps to Forever: A World War II Thriller

A great read with a delightful and satisfying plot. This World War II story intertwines intrigue, history and a love story in a very easy to read novel. The historical setting is well researched. I hope that there is a sequel.

I fully concur with the previous posts, that this novel is a very entertaining and easy to read novel.

It was enjoyable, exciting and easy to follow, which makes it a great book for any age. The author showed great talent in combining many historical events, people and locations of the WWII era with and interesting and exciting storyline.

The characters are interesting and have lots of personality. I am looking forward to a potential sequel!?

This is one of the best novels I have read in awhile. I would have liked to have finished the book knowing what happen to the rest of Otto's family. That is the only negative I have and it is minor! It was refreshing to read the kindle version that did not have any formatting, etc issues that so often makes some ebooks hard or impossible to read. Looking forward to the next book!!!!!!!!

I am ashamed to say I had no idea the main plot point of this book happened during WWII. But as I read, I kept telling myself, "Of COURSE!" This is Sam Baty's first novel. Now, it isn't perfect and it isn't "War and Peace" or "Tale of Two Cities." However, it IS a good read and worth your time. I'm already running through it a second time, and I haven't even had it a year, yet.

A friend bought this book for WWII Vet family members for Christmas last year. They were very happy with it. And the book isn't just "for the guys." We ladies like it, too. I purchased a copy for an aunt who lived through WWII in the States as a teenager. She was very appreciative of the insider's view. Now if there were just a sequel so we could find out what happens with Otto :-> Come on Sam, are you listening?

By the way, for book collectors such as myself, I was happy to find a hardback is available. I don't see it here on Amazon, but if I'm simply missing something, order it here. Otherwise, you can order at [...]

Sam Baty has found the knack of personalizing a major historical event, WWII. We watch the impact of the war on both combatants and civilians, both Allies and Axis, people we can understand because their reactions to major events are similar to our own. A good book, fun to read, as I'm confident its sequel will be (when it appears). It's my second Kindle but not my last. - World War Ii Fiction - World War Ii Novels - Historical Fiction'

Adapter - adapter, universal laptop ac adapter

This is light weight unlike other cheap adapters. Weighs about the same as an ordinary cellphone charger. Approximate dimension: 7.5cm x 4.8cm x 3.5cm.

Output voltage measured 9.22V~9.23V while selector was set at 9V and input current at 119.2V to 119.6V. This is an impressive ~2.55% variance (without considering the fact that the input voltage was not exactly 120V). A new 9V alkaline battery measures 9.29V. Hosa ACD477 AC 100-240V Multi Voltage DC Adaptor

Unlike all the other universal DC supplies I've seen, this one is voltage regulated. This means there's a semiconductor control that keeps the voltage constant across a wide range of loads. Without regulation, the voltage of a DC supply will only be correct when it's providing its rated current output. If the load is less, the voltage will rise and could damage the device being powered.

The supply is rated for 1200mA and can run on AC at 100 to 240 volts. Under a 580mA load on the 12v setting the voltage fell from 12.06v to 11.82v. On the 6v setting it fell from 5.68v to 5.48v. This is pretty good. With the regulation, there's no risk of damaging the device being powered, as long as you set the voltage and plug polarity properly.

Compared to another of my universal supplies, this one causes a bit less buzz when powering a little self-amplified speaker. I had to hold the speaker right up to my ear to hear the noise.

Since it's a switching power supply rather than a transformer, it's small and light compared to other universal supplies I've seen. When left plugged in with no load, it doesn't get warm at all.

The AC plug prongs fold down for easier storage.

The only criticism I'd offer is that the selection of plug tips could be better. I'd like to see a couple of the headphone-like plugs, and a 9-volt battery connector. If it had 12 plug tips like some other supplies, it'd be a perfect product. But I think you can buy other tips of this type; it seems to be a standard.

I may buy a couple more of these.

I bought this to replace the one that came with my router. My wireless router's original adapter goes really hot in use. Since I needed to keep it on everyday, I was afraid that it would explode and burn my house someday. This one works pretty well, the temperature keeps in a normal range and it is adjustable for other products.

I hooked it up to my multimeter and all voltages were within .3v with fairly clean power from the wall. It powers an old RF Modulator and video switch, and works splendidly. Only had it a few days so if it blows up (doesn't get hot so doesn't seem likely) i'll be sure to redo this review. Good product in my opinion. Came with the tip i wanted and any reviewer who says it doesn't show polarity didn't read the instruction manual. Says exactly how to do the polarity correct.

I had gotten my sis an ihome set on sale for her bday but it was missing the cord and I couldn't find one anywhere finally I found one on here and ordered it... It came really fast and I was able to give my sis a working ihome for her bday. It comes with a lot of different adapters so it will work with many different appliances.

The Hosa Universal adapter is a great buy for the price. Its small and uses universal type plug ins. In another words, Other type of old universal adapter plugs can be used on this adapter. it uses the 2 pin plug-ins. It has all the various types of voltages for small electronic/electric appliances and devices.

It works just fine. I replaced a proprietary power adapter for a drum machine with this one for half the price. Comes with a set of connectors tips, and you're good to go as soon as you figure out which one is your device's size and polarity.

The device works well. But be careful if your device that needs charging is not of US origin. This adaptor's connector tips have holes inside them; positive and negative poles are placed such that one of them is outside of the connector tip and the other one is inside of the hole in the tip. So if your device that is to be charged originally has connectors without holes which means both poles are outside of the tip you can't use this adaptor's connector tips. As a workaround I cut my original connector's wires and plugged the bare wires to the socket which actually needs the connector tips to be plugged in. - Universal Laptop Ac Adapter - Adapter'

Harry Potter 7 - jk rowling, harry potter movie

I'm so very happy that I can recommend this one without any hesitation at all!

The last couple Harry Potter films disappointed me in a myriad of ways. My disappointment didn't cause me to hate them, but I did feel let down and I have to admit that I found Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince pretty forgettable. But, being a Potter fan, I still found myself rushing out to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I today. And to my great relief and happiness, I loved it - really loved it! Yeah!

The chase of the Seven Potters by the Death Eaters and the trip to the Ministry of Magic are tense and exciting, the endless camping trip is just as effective at portraying the helplessness and frustration the characters are experiencing as it was in the book and the scene that gives us Hermione reading Beedle the Bard's "Tale of the Three Brothers" is riveting and wonderfully creative - much, much better than I would have thought it could be. We finally get to meet Bill (and Fleur's briefly-glimpsed wedding dress is gorgeous!) and the whipped cream on top of all this goodness is that the film is much more humorous than I expected. While not everything is included, of course, I didn't come out of this film grumbling things along the lines of "How could they leave out _____?" or "Why did they add ________when it wasn't even in the danged book?" - both comments I have been known to make after viewing some of the other films. Instead, I left the theater feeling like I'd seen a relatively faithful rendering of the "real" story. And there were even one or two things that I thought the film did better than the book, most notably the interruption of Harry & Ginny's kiss. The not-in-the-book added scene of Harry and Hermione dancing was both amusing and incredibly poignant - a true highlight of the film for me.

For some reason, the enjoyment this film gave me seemed to lift some sort of weight off me - which seems a very odd thing to say, I know. I think it returned a good deal of the joy I found in the earlier films - when seeing the characters and the places come to life on the screen was so magical. (That first glimpse of Hogwarts!) In a way, I feel like I'm back *in* - that I'm once again immersed in the film version of the story in a way that more closely echoes the effect the books had on me. While the films, IMHO, can never hope to match the books, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, Part I, let me feel the magic again. For that I thank everyone involved with it.

I thought the acting by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson was better than it's been in any of the Potter films - they really seem to have come into their own here. Helena Bonham Carter was freakishly perfect as usual, Jason Isaacs very good and Rhys Ifans as Xenophilius Lovegood a welcome newcomer. The film sounds good - the score is a mood-setting addition to the film (especially effective, I thought, were the screeching radio sounds during many of the camping scenes) - and it looks even better. The shots of the English countryside are beautiful but often seem almost overwhelmingly empty and lonely - perfect for the story.

When it was announced that Deathly Hallows would be split into two films, I was glad because I hoped that by doing so the filmmakers would be able to do justice to the complexities of Rowling's plot. And now, having seen Part I, I feel that they've succeeded in doing just that. After this, I can look forward to the last film, not with dread, but with pleasure. And I am incredibly thrilled to be able to say that.

Very highly recommended!

I particularly enjoyed the many small and delightful details they took care to include. Harry's youngest fans, though, may be disappointed that the rides are geared to older fans.) Rechargeable Flashlights - flashlight, tool - dewalt

i have a ryobi flashlight that needed a new bulb & the replacement bulb is the dewalt one (that's what home depot told me).

but i was turned away when i saw the bulbs are $8/pair...i thought what a rip off...so i went online & i saw makita had an 18v bulb (p/n A90261) that was similar to the dewalt. and the best part is it's $3.50/pair & i found at a website w/ a $0.01 shipping...couldn't beat that. i got the bulbs last night & it fits in my ryobi flashlight w/ out a problem. whaooo whoooo!!! DEWALT DW9083 18-Volt Flashlight Replacement Bulb, 2 Bulbs

The previous reviewer said that these are the same as Sears - they are not! The Sears ones are made by Dorcy and do not have the same shock tolerance as the dewalt bulbs. I know - I was suckered into the Sears bulbs and killed all of them (4) where I normally can go a long time with the Dewalt. They regularly tolerate shocks from the flashlight tipping. The sears ones blow everytime! Maybe I got a bad batch, but Ill never buy the Sears ones again!

Even though these are DeWalt light bulbs, I have successfully used them to replace Ryobi and Sears 18v light bulbs that come in the handheld lights you get in the rechargeable toolkits. If you drop a lamp, the bulb will tend to go (although they take a decent amount of punishment beforehand). I highly recommend keeping a few on hand. They are very bright and can fill a room with light.

I purchased these for a Black & Decker 18 Volt flashlight. I accidentally dropped the flashlight onto a hard tile floor and the original bulb broke. These replacement bulbs were a perfect fit! They last a very long time (unless you drop them!!!).

for those of you that own the DEWALT DW919 18V Cordless Flexible Floodlight with a dead bulb and looking for replacement try this first... just unscrew the flashlight lens and look right inside the rim... BINGO!... their should be an extra backup bulb right inside the flashlight... I found this out the hard way after buying the replacement pack... but if you've already killed both bulbs then buy the 2-Pack here while you can... these are kinda hard to find... and they probably won't last... these work great so go nutz!

This bulb was not as bright as the original Ryobi bulb that came with the flashlight.

I ended up buying the LED bulb for 20$. The LED makes similar amount of light as this bulb (so, the LED is not as bright as the original either), but extends the battery life to 6 times as much as before!

Bought these a while back and got the two-pack for about 8 bucks. I have both a DeWalt 18v and a Ryobi 18v flashlight. Both take the same bulb, and these DeWalt xenon bulbs are bright and hold up pretty well to shock and vibration (I've dropped both lights more than once and the bulbs -- as well as both of the flashlights -- can take a reasonably good beating). But recently I've found the same bulb (looks like same manufacturer, too) branded under the Craftsman name at both Sears and OSH (for those of you in California) selling for $1.49 each. Lots easier to find one there when you need it in a hurry.

It costs about 80 cents to ship these anywhere in the states via postal service, yet RFBDirect seems to have a flat rate of $7. They must be Lunar based. Also, these are garbage bulbs anyway. For the price of a Dewalt tool, you would think they could make a better bulb! - Tool - Dewalt - Light Bulbs - Dewalt - Flashlight'

Cell Phone Charger - ipad, cell phone charger

A great solution for charging up an assortment of Apple gadgets. It provides the extra power needed to charge an iPad while it's powered on. The USB ports on most PC's only put out 500mw and the iPad needs 1000mw to be charged while it's in use. I like that you can charge 4 devices at once and only use a single power outlet.

Plus it makes a great stand for the iPad. We keep this in the kitchen and we can view recipes on the iPad while it's resting in the stand. When you price out decent iPad stands, this becomes a greater bargain.

There were a couple of peeves, but nothing serious. It does not come with an Apple dock connector USB cable. They are cheap enough, like this one, but iHome could have tossed one in. Also the phone charging cable needs to use the included mini to micro adapter. Mobile phones have pretty much standardized on the micro USB connector, a cable like this (except shorter) should have been included. iHome IB969G Charging Station for iPad, iPod, iPhone, BlackBerrys and eReaders

I ordered this product because of the mess with all different types of iPod and iPad Chargers.

It works well and charges 4 devices at once. The high power outlet for the iPad charges this device pretty fast. Without the inlays for the iPhone3 you can place an iPhone 4 with case directly in the dock.

Now I can put my other power adapters somewhere else.

The first thing that I noticed about this product is that in the associated image, the Blackberry is off to the side, not charging. The iHome IB969G charger is little more than a USB hub with a platter. Beneath the platter are two USB hubs, one side is powerful enough to accommodate the iPad while the other is for any other USB charging devices. One cool attribute of the iB969G is the sync on/off toggle on the top which is genuinely useful for keeping it attached to the computer.

Despite this being a Jack-Of-All-Trades product, I don't find it indispensable. It's cheaply constructed and rather ugly. It also requires a separate USB cord to charge the iPad.

Is it worth $40 dollars? Absolutely not. I think $20 would be too much to pay for a powered two port USB hub. It's an absolute waste of your money.

This multi-duty dock is a sure delight. Each night, I use it to charge my iPad, iPod Touch and smartphone, using the one dock and one electrical outlet. Its rear slot reliably holds the iPad, horizontally, for charging. I can even choose the quick-charge feature when time is scant. What is more, I unplug the dock to simply enjoy it as a reliable spot to leave my devices so I don't misplace them. The expandable base holds keys, among other small items, so you don't lose those, either. Alternately, you could use the base to show off a valued photo, or a fave art item; you will find the base quaint and unobtrusive. The ability to take advantage of a variety of inputs (a minimum of 5) gives this dock it's satisfying usefulness.

Overall, the dock is a winner, to be sure. When it's time for an upgrade of this model, I suggest a heavier base: seating an iPad vertically in the rear slot will tip the dock backward. To its credit, iHome specifically states that the dock is not meant for the iPad. If you've got one, however, that back slot sure is tempting! The dock can do it's job well with the iPad - as long as the iPad is either placed in the back slot horizontally, and NOT vertically, or placed beside the dock while it charges.

As I did, you can purchase this docking station/charger hassle-free, right here on Amazon.com.

This little beauty charges an iPad, two iPhones, and a Kindle for us - all at the same - with nary a complaint! Add the occasional iPod to the mix, and we have "charging central" - with a reasonably small footprint, and a lot of convenience. Some of the bulkier iPhone\iPod covers might not fit well in the two slots, but work-arounds like using the provided (or original Apple) cables will work fine. We have the iPad encased in a somewhat bulky "roocase", but it still sits like a champ in the rear slot. Haven't tried the iTunes "synching" feature yet, but it should work, since the device functions as a powered USB connection when paired with your computer. Quality and engineering of the plastic unit are fine. All-in-all - a worthwhile buy that works as advertised.

We currently use this to charge 2 iPhone 4's, 1 iPod Touch and 1 iPad (first generation). All can be charged at the same time.

For this setup, I have to use 2 usb-dock connector cables, which were not included. We have many extras lying around so that was not an issue.

The iPhones and iPod can be charged while in cases, the inserts need to be removed though. You also need to be careful when inserting the devices.

Base is a little too light in my opinion, one with slightly more heft would make it more stable. It tends to slide around when we are plugging stuff in.

Overall, pretty happy ... it does reduce a fair amount of clutter!

I bought the iHome Charging Station for our home recently. I had a Dexim dual home charger before, but we(I) left that at a hotel in Niagara falls accidentally, and they wanted $45.00 to ship it back to us. I bought the iHome to replace that and it was cheaper than the shipping for the Dexim from Canada. The iHome can charge 4 devices at one time and takes up very little space. Our family of 6 (4 kids, my wife and I) have 3 iPads, 3 iPhones, 3 3DSs and a DSi. Our kitchen countertop always had multiple chargers aon it and the kids would fight over charging their stuff. Now there is no clutter, the extra usb ports can charge our iPads and also the 3DSs and DSi (I bought a few DSi usb cables from Amazon for $3 each), and no fighting over when to charge the devices. My wife hated the clutter and loose wires, and the iHome is very neat and clean. The extra 2 usb wires that you can use, can be coiled under the base and out of sight. She actually loves it because it also acts as a stand for her iPad in the kitchen. And as any married man will tell you a happy wife means a happy life.

I would highly recommend this product to any family with multiple portable electronic devices like iPhones, iPads, eBook readers and portable gaming systems. - Cell Phone Charger - Ipad - Accessories - Cheap'

Winter Hat - hat, cap

I bought this one because it was one of the first Beanies listed under prime shipping. It's a decent and sufficient beanie hat that serves its purpose. A little long but easily folds up. It's easily storable and is thick enough to sufficiently keep my head warm in colder weather. Long Knit Beanie Hat Black

I lose these things at least once a month, so finding a pretty good looking one for cheap is a relevant find for me. The page reads like this is a 3 count package to me- I expected 3 but it comes as as single. No Biggie- still a good value- I promptly ordered 2 more.

Its a great hat, since i live in NC i dont have much use for the cold, i just use it for fashon so overall its a great hat, gets a lil stretchy after some uses but a run through the washer and drier solves that problem

I thought this beanie would be slouchy due to its longness.

I was wrong. its extremely stiff, even after washes.

and it sticks straight up, like a gangmemeber would wear a beanie.

i didn't really like the fabric, it was itchy. - Beanie - Cold - Hat - Cap'

These earrings were much smaller than I had imagined they would be but they're beautiful none the less, not like anyone could really notice them unless they were sitting very close to either side of me. But they do stand out, I've received a number of compliments on them, definitely worth having. 18k Yellow Gold Plated Sterling Silver Genuine Multi-Gemstone Flower Post Earrings

These earrings were prettier than I expected. The post is at the top of the earring, not towards the center. I didn't care for the way they hung off my ear, so I put them in my 2nd piercing, higher on my lobe. That put them so they covered my lobe and just came off the end, and I loved it! The stones aren't a clear great color but, as in the photo, they aren't represented to be. I really like them and have worn them several times since they arrived. My only issue was with the packaging. They were in a plastic bag and smashed flat against a paperback book I had also ordered. I straightened out the posts and sent Amazon a message letting them know they have an idiot working in their packing department!

These earrings are a marvel! The only thing I don`t quite like about them is the fastener. I would be happier if they had a traditional so-called English fastener. But all the rest is a work of art! I bought them for some of my summer outfits and I am sure they are going to be perfect additions and ornaments for many special outings. - Jewelry - Flowers'
